Will this road trip mark the beginning of the end?

I think this road trip is simply exposing all the weaknesses this team has. Since a 17-7 start, over the past 87 games we are 41-46, a .471 winning percentage. This team simply isn't very good. It would not surprise me at all to not make the playoffs.

You could have said the same thing last year and have it be even more telling because outside of the 2 huge winning streaks we were a .500 team with the same offensive problems . The difference is this year our hot streaks have not been as long.

We can go 38-15, but there have to be some changes in the lineup in doing so.

This team is simply too talented to not at least get a wild card birth. We just have to hope that the Braves get hot come playoff time and hope that we get the Nats or NLC winner . The thing is if this team gets hot and helps our pitchers even a little bit we can hang with anyone including the Dodgers. What I do not understand is although we were swept in LA we gave LA all they could handle while we rolled over and played dead vs the Padres a team we just took 3-4 from

Did you get the impression if things had fallen right we could have won 2 of those dodger games? I had no such feeling against the Padres after the 1st shlacking I expected a sweep.

I think a big splash signing like Castillo the Cuban OF that can do it all is the winning move here. The Dodgers kinda underperformed til that flaming Cubano got in their lineup too!
