Winning the NL East

I nothing of that board they don't like me. I told them truth last year they threw me off. Look I have got to tell truth. I am not changing my tune just because a few of you go with the braves do no wrong crap. Put your big boy britches on...

What truth did you tell them? Last year we had no shortage of "braves suckered and the Nats are about to go on a roll" posters. Even 10 games up before the all star break.

The problem I have with posters like you is you speak as if your predictions are fact. If you don't think the braves will win the East that's a perfectly valid opinion. But that's what it is, an opinion. Teams over achieve and under achieve for many reasons. Do the Nats have a better team on paper? Maybe. But for all their greatness they have only won 1 more game out of 100.

I am sorry if my rooting for the braves and not giving up on them offends you. I am not going to wallow in self pity and b itch and moan in every post about the team. I actually like the team and root for them to overcome gods gift to baseball.

LMAO at Mike Minor being "bad for 18 months prior to his good season and half." I really question whether or not you can read numbers? Seriously, it's really easy. Just google them, and look at them. He's pitched at worst pretty good in every season in his career, minors and majors. He had a high ERA when he came up in 2010 but actually pitched pretty well. Good in 2011 between the majors and minors. His first full season in 2012 was his worst so far and that was due to a poor first half. He made up for it in the 2nd half. Last year he was a steady, legit #2 pitcher.

This year, he has a .358 BABIP against. A HR/FB almost 3% higher than his worst year previous. His peripherals are right around (some better) his career norms. His FIP this year is 4.37 but xFIP is 3.69. He is at worst a solid pitcher. He certainly has a lot more to offer than Hale. It's not fun seeing him struggle but to say he's been a bad pitcher more than a good one in his career is based on absolutely nothing but dumbass-ness.

You guys are the ones offended...I just don't see the greatness of this team. And I'm not changing my tune. And for the record, I told the folks over there they were done last year and they were. Even if we somehow make it we have zero shot at a title. I know there are a few that get where I'm coming from, but some of you I just shake my head. We haven't had a legit shot at a title since the big three were broken up. I don't attack any poster personally, I keep my comments directed towards the organization and not the posters on this board a favor which is not returned, but whatever.

Since one team in 30 wins the title, predicting we won't isn't particularly brave.

We need to win more games than the Nats and then our hot-and-cold offense needs to stay hot for three series. Then we'll be great.

Having a fifth starter doesn't mean **** in October. If Minor doesn't get it together he doesn't start. Pretty simple.

Most important thing that's happened? Tommy La Stella. Stabilizes the offense, makes it more consistent.

I said on 6/1, when we were averaging 3.4 runs per game, that we would average a run more for the last four months. We're at 4.3 since.

The sky's not falling. We're in the hunt. If we play well we're in, if we don't we're not. Go Braves.

So what do you hope to achieve by speaking your "truth"? Why even have a forums to discuss the team if we don't have a chance and haven't for 15 years? I really want to understand your motive. Do you just enjoy being the bearer if bad news? I don't want this board to turn into the cesspool of negativity most other forums are. Win or lose I love the team. You clearly are getting no enjoyment from watching this team.

And if you don't want to be personally attacked don't state your opinion as if it's an unrefutable fact. I don't care if it's you think the braves will win 100 or lose 100, your a dumb ass if you think you think baseball is that easily predicted.

Let me ask you this, can you count on this rotation to go out and win you 3 out of 5? No you can't. The mets kicked our tails, the Cubs mounted two dang near comebacks,. Right now the rotation is Julio and the maybes. Maybe they pitch well outside Julio and maybe they don't. Take out that stellar April and then look at the number, not a number you can nor should hang your hat on.

The bullpen was why they almost mounted two comebacks, not the rotation.

Mets series was their pitching shut us down, SP minus Julio that series was more than fine for the most part but keep up the negative Braves post and postivie Nats posts, shows the type of fan you are.

The offense is the problem, not the rotation, doesnt take much to realize this if you are a fan of the Braves, hard to tell by some/most of your posts.

Minus Minor, the rotation has been about what you could ask for given the injuries.

Why do you post here if we have zero shot of winning the title then?

What's your purpose of posting if you know we wont win it all?

Maybe because I am a Braves fan and there is no law on the books that says you have to have a blind we are gonna win it all attitude. I lost that in 2003 when Glavine left.

Sure. But what over the past few seasons says this team is suddenly going to crap the bed? The Braves have the most wins of anybody in baseball over the past few years. And once again we are one of the top teams in the NL. I See no reason to think the Braves won't once again be in it to the end of the year. Will we win the division or take one of the two WC spots? Who knows. But the Braves will be in contention until the end of the year and that's all you can ask.

Thats not even the point but whatever, done arguing this.

All sports are predictable and there are a lot of guys that get paid a lot of money to do so. As far as why I don't like this team I am not sure, for years I used to think they would win just by stepping on the field. The pitching strikes fear in no one really. Every team we face should have the mentality we can take these guys. As opposed to in the heyday when that wasn't going to happen. The other thing that gets under my skin and most troubling is they just don't show up some nights. It's maddening to watch.

As far as my opinions they are mine, not expecting anyone to agree, but I will state them as I see fit as often as I see fit.

So will I.

Did you predict the braves owning the Nats in head to head matchups? Did you predict the braves leading the division most of the year?

Keep in mind we have nine more and they did win the last two, plus they do lead us by a game despite the ownage. So we don't own anything yet. I would agree with you if we had a 3 plus game lead.

So if we were 57-44 and the Nats were 53-46 we'd be some sort Juggernaut to you?

Your logic is beyond insane. Braves has the 5th best record in the NL, but we aren't a playoff caliber team. GTFO with that ****

Yes at point of the season a three game lead is a sizeable lead, your logic is well yours....my logic is assuming we are three games up going in to the next series then at worst all we would have to do is win one, my logic is not so far off, Master Jedi...
