When they were talking about prospects and stuff, I was excited. When they want Swanson and Teheran, it's not fun anymore.

I took offense to that comment. As I'm sure others did.

If you guys want to play your games, take it offline. I shouldn't have to read hate speech on a baseball forum.
 
A minor point of caution on Chris Archer would be his age. In my mind's eye he's 25ish, so I was surprised to see that next year is his age 29 season. The contract is very team friendly, but you're buying his age 29-33 seasons. Not trying to say he's ancient, but some level of decline needs to be factored in the evaluation. Not to belabor a point, but I'm hoping we end up letting that be someone else's worry.

See where Yankees sign Matt Holliday for one year, $13 M. After getting all of those bad contracts off their payroll, they had to add another old guy.

I'm okay with it baseball-wise as well, particularly when combined with marketing reasons. Players like Swanson are not the type you give up when they are under team control.

That's what they should do, as their window to win big is closing, but I don't think they have the pieces. It would take Robles at least to get either.

They would have to give up Robles and Giolito, but they could do it.
