Winter Meetings Thread

Padres are aggressively shopping Yangervis Solarte. I'd like to see the Braves go after someone like that. He's better than Adonis and under control for three more seasons.
 
Gialito will go bye bye too. It would completely empty their farm system. No way they could keep that whole team in tact for the long term. Bryce is gonna get paid big time.
 
I hope the Nats trade for both. They would probably have a run like the Phillies had and we would peak as they are on the decline due to lack of cheap players to replenish the roster.

I think they'd have to move Turner as well. Robles and one or more of their top pitchers is the minimum for Cutch, and Giolito isn't getting you Sale.

They have a solid system, but I agree he'd have to be in one trade.
 
They are going to do all that and neglect the BP again. Please trade for both!! Plus they have Dusty Baker, so they are not winning anything!! lol..

I'd worry about the price for Solarte after last year. I'd be cool with him, but only for a reasonable return.

I think Robles gets you most of the way to McCutchen on his own.

Giolito doesn't bring you Sale on his own, but he's also getting you a lot of the way there.

I'm not saying Robles and Giolito by themselves gets you those 2, just that they could both easily be the headliner in those deals. I don't think you'd have to give up Turner on top of it, though you would definitely have to include some more talent.
 
Nats don't have the system for it if Turner is off the table. Robles + for McCutchen, and then what's left for Sale?

If Im them, I would trade Giolito without even hesitating; I like Lopez better and Fedde may end up better. I don't even know what they are going after Sale. I would trade for Eaton, Sign Pearce, Melancon. They don't even need another starter.

Why are you so down on Giolito?
 
So the Nats would be stupid to trade for Sale and Cutch when they are a clear contender because it would ruin their future, but the Braves would be smart to ruin their future to acquire Sale to pitch for a non-contender?
