Woof woof. The official dogs thread

Dalyn saw our dog on Facebook which is one of my pictures (hey I don't do Facebook, the wife does all that stuff). We got her a few months ago. A golden Lab with a pink nose. But for the life of me she barks at me, but then buries her head in my lap after barking. I was like WTF is your problem? BUt then I notice she barks only at the males she encounters. The wife and kids went to visit her parents and took her with them and she barked at all the guys but not at the gals.

Weird I will tell you, but the dog is smart as all heck. Very obedient except telling her to quit barking at me and then be my best friend.

My dog Sparty, male dog is sort of the same way. He will bark at damn near every guy he doesn't know.

Had to put my 11 year old Rot down today. My sister just put down her lab exactly one month ago due to a cancer that snuck up...

Ugh. I feel for you, man. My boy is eight, and I dread when that time comes.

I've got 3 golden labs in my life and they all bark excessively. They're needy animals and desire lots of attention.
I have to amend this and say that my buddy Luke has calmed down as he's reached adulthood. Still very excitable though, but I guess that's just part of his charm.

I have 9 year old shiba. He's interesting like most shibas, but really chill. He works at Subway and is on the management track.

WHAT.
I have no idea how any can think this. Cats are terrible. They don't even deserve to be talked about in a thread about DOGS. So I'm done.

No he's right. Cats>Dogs. I love Dogs, well certain dogs. But dogs are way too damned much work. They constantly want to be around you, they're large and almost always smell terrible. Unless you're using them for a service like hunting they don't present any real advantage over a cat.

Cats on the other hand are totally independent, give you the right amount of love and are much quieter.

Also it doesn't compare having the 2 when you go away. If you go away with a dog you basically have to leave it somewhere or have someone over at least twice a day to walk them, play with them, let them ****. Etc. My cat I have osmeone come over once and feed him and make sure he has water. When Sandy hit we went to my parents for 2 days. I gave him a bunch of food a bunch of water, and a clean litterbox and came back, he was still fine. Cats are the **** for people like me who're lazy.

That's terrible news man. I am really sorry for you.

I get so attached and these dogs are definitely part of the family.

I am not talking about that terrible animal when we're in a dog thread. cats are useless and are born assholes.
