Worst Players For Atlanta?

What bugs me most about Bruce Sutter's extreme suckage in a Braves uniform is that he is still being paid for it 30 years later. I'm sure it's not counting toward the payroll, but it just doesn't seem right.

Rico has long had Esasky on his list even though he shouldn't for the reason you point out, same was said to him last time he listed Esasky only back then he included a rant against him too. I never understood it personally.

It may have been me. I remember the discussion coming up years back. I defended Esasky then too.

Would say Keith Lockhart but he had a couple real solid years for us in his roll. Same goes for Brooks Conrad... can't name him because of his magical grand slam moments even though his defense lost important games for us.

2.) Brad Komminsk hype

Man I was so disappointed when he fell on his face after being so hyped at the time. Particularly given the power he showed right after getting called up. He definitely belongs on this list simply due to the hype he brought alone.

Vinny Castilla. Displaced Chipper to LF while putting up a negative 1.5 WAR. The original sucking vortex of doom. I always hated moving Chipper and wonder if he would have stayed healthier without this move.

Don't think it's even a debate. Yes. It costs him 3,000 hits for sure and likely 500 dingers.

To add insult to injury, Brett Butler was offered back to the Braves for Komminsk. (Think this was mentioned in Shanks's book.) Obviously, somebody squelched the deal. It would've partly reversed the damage from the Len Barker trade, and would've allowed them to cut bait on Komminsk. Can't recall if ever even had much "change of scenary" option after it was evident that he wouldn't make it in ATL.

Corky. Corky Miller.

Two seasons. .138/.200/.230.

Talk about a catch-and-throw guy.

Catch-and-throw up is more like it.

Porn 'stache Hall of Fame though.

Me too, but recall that particular exchange. Esasky was incredible with the Reds at AFS, and lived in Marietta. That signing was a slam dunk. Can't place blame on anybody for the vertigo. It just happened.
