Wren "dismissed" --

Excited if this is indeed the beginning of the Coppolella era, as the pundits speculate.

Meanwhile, I'm happy with a Hart/Cox/Schuerholz triumvirate.

They'll probably wait till after the season to fire Fredi. There's no clear cut replacement there like there is with GM. At least that's what I'm hoping for.[/Q

Fredi has to go sooner than later. I expect many players will be moved as well.

Yeah the first task for the new GM will be the coaching staff. The Hydra (JS, Cox, Hart) are probably going to let the new GM pick his own staff, so firing any coaches now wouldn't make much sense.

McDowell would be and should be the only safe coach on the whole staff. It'll be interesting to see how it all shakes out next week. But alot of movement both with the staff and players are coming this off season I'd bet.

Hudson why don't you like Pendleton? Seems like he's earned at least a chance to manage the team.

I'm thankful for Wren's service, and I don't think his accomplishments can be overlooked. That said, I think it's time for someone else.

If it is Coppolella, his first order of business should be to find a new manager. I don't see how it can't be.

Barnes, I like TP but he seems like a Cox clone to. I'd like some fresh blood from outside the organization. Coppelella is a young guy and I'd like the same from our manager. Somebody new and fresh to the organization. It's paid out pretty well doing so with McDowell. TP can stay on as a base coach.

I would make McDowell manager if we can find a suitable pitching coach, or make him paid like a manager as a pitching coach. What he's been able to do has been fantastic.

Unless you can replace him with Curt Young, he shouldn't go anywhere.

Yeah, that's fair. I'm just surprised that in an organization that prides itself on loyalty that Pendleton's name isn't brought up more.

Am I in the minority that wouldn't mind Hart staying involved in some capacity? Heck possibly even GM.

Absolutely! Senior advisor or something like that to Coppolell?

The guy has a wealth of baseball knowledge, and his creditials speak for themselves with the job he did in Cleveland. I give him a free pass in Texas as Hicks was running the show even though Hart took the blame for a lot of the things that happened during that period of time. Remember who was also the manager during that trainwreck, nonother than Buck Showwalter whom I have always liked and he has evolved and become the best manager in the game as of today.

Back to Hart, I've always thought one of his biggest strengths is identifying young talent and being able to decipher and lock up the talent. He also brings respect amongst agents in negotiations which could help someone as young and new to a role like Coppolell will be.
