Until Zito's OP (Citizens United, i.e. unlimited anonymous $$$) is addressed, having another party—or 3, or 12—is irrelevant, since the same individuals and corporations will essentially act as gatekeepers to elected office. This, along with some general electoral/campaign finance reform, should be the #1 priority for anyone, regardless of political affiliation, who wants to see actual change.
