I hate this song, but at least after hearing this better version, imo, I finally understand the song's meaning. The problem is the screaming vocals don't match the emotion of remembering a long ago lost love. So you've been living with this heartache for years but suddenly you want to yell at somebody? Doesn't make sense. Of course I'm in the minority and know Adele was only trying to recreate the success she had with "Someone Like You", which actually was a great tune. As flawed and uninteresting as I think the song is, the public apparently just wants to hear Adele sing something real loud.

Thanks for the Kirsty MacColl zito. A sad and tragic accidental death saving her son in a water-related episode. One of the truly great voices of the 1980s taken from us way too soon.
