I was too young to really process Kurt Cobain and Layne Staley's deaths. I mean I understood them, but by that point in my life I wasn't as engrossed in music as I became. I grew up with Grunge, it was mainly Pearl Jam but with a healthy amount of Alice in Chains and Soundgarden sprinkled in. As I got older, Soundgarden started striking me more. Add in his stellar continued career with Audioslave and some pretty solid original stuff, Chris Cornell's death hit me pretty hard from a creative standpoint.
