Huston Street welcome to the Braves!

#Braves have traded INF Tyler Greene to the Padres in exchange for a player to be named later. Greene was with AAA Gwinnett.
I didn't see why we re-signed him in the first place. Bad baserunner and poor defender whereever you put him. Plus he cannot hit much so makes sense to trade or release him.
or Jeff Francoeur.![]()

RIP Jeff Francoeur
Stunning trade so early in the season. I read it as a vote of confidence in Elmer Reyes.
I'm wondering if that bullpen experiment wasn't an experiment after all, but a tryout to bring the natural back home.![]()
Who exactly would want Greene? Anxious to see what turd we get in return.

Cashner?
Funny, but you may have the Cash part right. It may be the old PTBNL or Cash trade. If a player is involved it is likely someone the Padres have no need for anymore (same as us with Greene). In other words, no one worth mentioning most likely. But nothing wrong with hoping to get someone that amounts to something.

It also could be that Nunez moves up to AAA to split duties (or back-up) at short. Kazmar is the only true shortstop at AAA now, so probably another shortstop coming there soon. Reyes would continue to start at short in AA regardless.
Didnt we get Butcher for Rodrigo Lopez?
They could also move Kleinkneght back up to AA to serve as utility infielder/backup shortstop.
