OR, maybe we need a new coaching staff, since the malaise that has settled over the players has affected everyone not named Ozuna (and Kelenic and Riley of late), not just the former A's players.

Only the only justification right now for a Rooker trade is if they are letting Ozuna walk. Our outfield is honestly set for the forseeable future even though it's ass right now with Harris and Acuna out. And that's beside the fact he's going to command a pretty good package since he would be under control for 3.5 years.

Agreed. I can't see us being legit bidders for Rooker given his likely cost and overall fit on the team after this year. Winker is the obvious upgrade for us. Hopefully we make it happen.

Randy Arozarena is someone I like too who has a 1 more year left to FA. Could be a good trade chip in the off-season or give us a good platoon partner with JK and provide Acuna insurance for 2025. I wouldn't spend much on RA, but if the cost is similar between Winker and RA, I will take RA.
 
People complain about our hitters lack of situational hitting wouldn't like Rooker. Dudes literally swinging for the fences every swing no matter the count. That looks fine when he is on a 40 HR pace.
 
Rooker is definitely due for some major regression from that .391 BABIP. I would prefer not to pay a premium for the opportunity to see him hit like Adolis Garcia for the remainder of the season.

Idk about selling the farm for Rooker. I think SS is the obvious target to trade for this winter. Acuna, Harris, Kelenic is more than good enough with whoever as depth.
 
I would love to trade for a super sub that has some control. Someone like Jazz that can fake most every position and can produce at the plate a bit. Then hire the trained monkey to help Twit manage workloads

Winker is exactly the type of player AA should be targeting. I would not be at all surprised to see him in Atlanta in the next couple weeks.
 
Yeah, the exact name isn't important. What's important is that the guy is a competent cOF defender who can actually hit RHP.

AA has proven beyond all doubt to be masterful at filling holes just like this, so there's zero reason to think he won't fill this hole.

I agree. I think we need to get Lane Thomas too. He mashes lefties and has team control for next year too.
