your concern is appreciated

I'm sure I speak for thethe as well in that we don't want to see her naivety cause harm to her. None of us are saying all the illegal immigrants in Britain are this way. However, it is naive not to recognize a sizable minority are radicalized.

I would say it is a rather small minority. Brown and black people in London (and elsewhere) are mostly concerned with putting food on their families' tables. Like everyone else.

There is also a rather small minority of white Londoners who are dangerous. There is a subculture. Or multiple subcultures. Skinheads. Splinter groups within yob culture. And of course posh upper-class gentlemen will have some bad apples mixed in.

And how much of the rape/violent crime spikes in places like UK/Sweden are applicable to this group?

Let's stipulate that certain groups commit more such crimes.

Given that the overwhelming majority of the worst offending groups don't in fact engage in criminal activity, I can only see this form of discourse as bigotry and an attempt to demonize people belonging to certain groups. We should look at people as individuals and not apply these sorts of crude stereotypes.

% of the group that commits the crime doesn't mean anything to the women being raped by an African migrant.

I'm willing to bet you did this same nonsense with illegal immigration in our country. How did that work out?

Stick your head in the sand and yell "bigot" to your heart's content. What we are stating is truth that you can't handle.

Lets see what another 20-25 years does to Europe if they stay with this same nonsensical trajectory.

deal with the criminals

but don't demonize innocent people who are just trying live their lives

this shouldn't be difficult

Crazy concept but maybe we can use statistical analysis to prevent the criminals from even coming....

WILD!!!

It is an inconvenient reality that most people don't want to recognize but Americans benefit from illegal immigration. They mow our lawns, repair the roofs over our heads, provide care to our children, cook and serve meals and wash the dishes at restaurants, pick the fruits and vegetables, work in slaughterhouses.

I'm all for enforcing our laws. Or changing them if we don't like how current laws are working. But I kind of doubt we'll see any mass deportations. We'll see. A part of me wishes for it so the outcomes will be clear for everyone to see.

There's no doubt there is some benefit in some areas. Overall, it's a negative because you aren't getting the best of the best like you can with legal immigration. Your story is the exception and not the rule.

Higher wages and lower housing costs.

It would be amazing!

I'll make two observations:

1) Real wages are mostly determined by productivity. If you don't change productivity real wages will not change significantly. You may think wages of low-skilled workers are low because of illegal immigrants. But the reason is their low productivity. That won't change if there is mass deportation.

2) When rents go up there is a winner and loser. The winner is the landlord and the loser is the tenant. When rents go down there is a winner and loser. But flipped. So it is possible that mass deportations will create some redistribution. From landlords to tenants. But it is mainly a redistribution. Close to zero sum in terms of aggregate effect. Because the amount of housing (and housing services) stays the same in the short run. In the long run any drop in rents will lead to reductions in residential investment and a smaller housing stock.

100% agreed on (2) and I welcome it

For (1) there will be a new sense of american pride when politicans actually start putting americans first. When more manufacturing comes back through tariff policy productivty will skyrocket.

Productivity doesn't skyrocket cuz of ephemeral things like American pride. It requires investment. Investment in human capital (aka education and training). And investment in plant, equipment and software.

Yes - Investment such as additional manufacturing and then civic pride in hvaing a job that actually contributes to the well being of the nation.

I’m still amazed that folks that voted for the sleepy creepy vegetable that opened the border, don’t feel bad or guilty when one of the illegals kills an American child.

Weird how we don’t feel bad that those same children are struggling with poverty and hunger from policies intended to promote fiscal responsibility.

You don’t donate to your local food bank or serve in youth programs?

Personally, I am totally on board with those sort of programs for American families. It is insincere to be pro-life and then turn around and not provide the necessary assistance for that family to raise the child you forced them to have.

What “policies intended to promote fiscal responsibility” are causing children to starve?

The enhanced child tax credit that was in force for a couple years made a big dent in child poverty rates. It was allowed to lapse. I believe in the name of fiscal responsibility.

I would hazard a guess that reducing childhood poverty is a policy that more than pays for itself in terms of downstream benefits to society.
