Trade targets?

Blowing past the 3rd tier of the luxury cap and adding another bat only guy for on a deal the team wasn’t willing to give him a few months ago is hardly “nothing”.

To me this deal is a head scratcher. He will undoubtedly boost the offense though…if he can even still play defense at all.

Hoping for either Rengifo or Brandon Lowe to sure up 2b until Ozzie gets back and then take over a corner OF spot after that. +

I don't think we'll be shopping for another OFer.

Hopefully most of the resources are put into finding another quality pitcher. Preferably one that is an impact starting pitcher. But at minimum, we need someone reliable enough to take innings away from Sale, Lopez, and Schwelly.

I'm good with this. Get either Lowe or Renigfo -- and then get a controllable (through next year) but inexpensive pitcher like Cal Quantrill. The Rockies are a dumb organization, so they may take lesser prospects.

Winning a world series bought AA a lot of good will and the "benefit of the doubt...(there I said it)." The post WS moves have left something to be desired. This move is a meh move although offensively its OK. Just don't know what the sum of these parts will be with so many injuries.

I'm reserving judgement till I see soler in RF. As long as he isn't a total butcher, I think his bat will help us more than his glove hurts us.

Jackson has been outstanding in July, so I'm interested if he's figured it out again.

I have the exact same thoughts. It's not shocking that Luke would just be finding his groove given the TJ turnaround.

The Chicago White Sox believe that starter Garrett Crochet likely will be moved today, and that center fielder Luis Robert Jr. (who has drawn little interest) will be staying.

Anyone that was hoping that we would get Robert Jr, that idea was put to rest when we got Soler. However, I would love to have Crochet. Just doubt we have the pieces to make it work.....

Going into the WC round with Sale, Fried, and Crochet would be nasty.

Soler will be in LF.. unless I am misremembering his arm. Maybe if Sorryio starts in place of Dufail, they would put Soler in RF.. but probably not much of difference.

SS is untouchable at this point so i think Waldrep still holds alot of value and is probably expendable bc of SS. Crochet would be a huge get and the biggest reason AA would get him now is to replace Fried next year. It would save him alot of trouble to find another ace to replace him in the offseason. That rotation would terrify everybody come playoff time. Add Strider to it next year and it may be better that the 90’s rotation.

In the WC round, you would have Sale, Fried, and Crochet. Then in the NLDS, you would have Lopez, Sale, Fried, and Crochet....Morton moves to the pen to replace someone like Chavez....

That is a rotation set up wet dreams are made of. However, the offense showing up is a different story.

It sucks Nacho has fell on his face in his short time in the bigs. I don't think it has drastically tainted his value, but surely if he was hitting .290 with 10 walks instead of 10 ks, someone would be more likely to buy the hype.

I don't know what it would take to get Crochet, but hopefully we could get him without giving up AJSS and Baldwin.

I could see a world where dumb teams still value Kelenic, Nacho and Waldrep…especially Waldrep. I’m definitely the low man on these guys though.
