GDT: 07/20/2013: Braves at White Sox

Boy, the Braves pitching has been stellar today hasn't it. The bad thing with no other games on tv I don't even have the option of watching another game. I'm stuck with this garbage.

No, we don't.

And Peavy is owed a ton of money and has injury problems.

We don't have the prospects for either, name them.

Garza is going to be trade for Mike Ott and Neal Ramierz. Ott is the better prospect but Ramierz is not top flight SP prospect.

Peavy is owed a good bit of money but the braves have over 20 mill coming off the books. His money for 1 more year will not be a big issue.

Santana is a free agent to be. He won't cost top prospects.

Anyone of those have enough Value to get one of the 3 SP on the list.

:happy0157: You say you know what it means, yet your comment toward me doesn't support that.

Ok. Whatever. I'm going to go around bragging about Paul Maholm pitching 6 innings a start (regardless of how many ****ing runs he gives up) and yet in almost half his starts he's gone less than that mark I'm bragging about. Yeah that's really impressive and in a quarter of his starts he's gone less than 5 innings. And you continue to ignore my post that Maholm since his red hot start has posted an ERA of 4.85 and opponents OPS of .811 by saying he has more wins than losses. Whatever dude. You wanna think Paul Maholm is fine then that's your right. The rest of us will live in the real world and realize that Paul is anything but fine and needs to be replaced ASAP.

Paul is a decent pitcher and if Hudson and Medlen were pitching better then we might could live with his struggles. They are not so we have to move on.

Prefer to not trade for a rental whose a FA to be.

And none of those get Garza/Santana.

Beachy/Wood can more than hold it down.

Another BP arm is a bigger concern than the rotation.

I hope Maholm doesn't get enough starts to make it to the 5 ERA point that he shouldn't be talked about like he has.

But he had a shutdown inning!

Tim Hudson has a 2.77 ERA in his last 9 starts and has pitched at least 7 innings in 7 of those starts. How much better do you want him to be?

Take a deep breath. I didn't BRAG about it. I pointed out that it is a relief for the bullpen (you need to read things in context more often, in my opinion). That is a fact. And even with the terrible start today, his numbers are perfectly average for a #4.

Maholm might've been pitching with a wrist issue, but if so he should've been out earlier.

Yeah. I can't stand when a guy hides an injury (if that is what happened). Pretty obvious that he wasn't himself today, despite what people around here are saying.
