2024 Field

I've not read every politicians stance, but I do know several of the objections listed in this article have more to do with limiting what health insurances can coverage, rather than simply outright banning what men and women can do.

You asked a question about something you didn’t think was happening in reality, I was simply providing an answer. I would also claim making laws allowing insurance companies (a group that *loves* not covering anything it doesn’t happen to) not to cover medically-accepted care because of the gender that person was born seems pretty close to telling people what to do. If I passed a law that didn’t make guns illegal, but made each bullet a million dollars, is that not basically telling people they can’t legally shoot them?

Or imagine allowing medical insurers not to cover diseases that disproportionately affect certain minority groups.

The manufactured hype will fade and Trump will win in a landslide.

Enjoy!

Some realities

I dunno, I think the mark of success will not be the share Harris gets from these groups, but rather the turnout she drives from those groups. There aren’t a ton of non-Biden voters in those demographics who would have shifted to Trump and back.

It's vastly more nuanced than that and you know it.

Everyone hates something about themselves. I don't think insurances should have to pick up the tab on things like gender surgeries any more than they should pick up the tab on a woman's fake boobs or a facelift. Mental care is certainly a different animal.

Oh, now it’s nuanced? I’ve been accused of being a child abuser for even thinking doctors might know more than I do about this topic.

See, we actually agree on this. With how little we understand the brain and the extent of its interactions with the rest of our body, this doesn’t strike me as an argument in favor of letting insurance companies discriminate against the type of care adults and their doctors agree upon.

Because it's unethical to allow someone whose brain hasn't developed to make those decisions. Especially since a major component of most any child's decision on anything is determined by the opinion of their parents and their peers.

Say all their friends are LGBTQ and they are just trying to fit in. Would you be ok with that child having gender transformation surgery performed on them? I mean they could easily lie about the entire ordeal. Would that be ethical to you? Are we going to allow pre-teens to get lip injections and fake boobs now as well because they are unhappy with their body? When did encouraging people to love their own body become taboo?

As for your 2nd point, almost all cosmetic surgery is elective surgery. It doesn't matter if it's a boob job or gender transitioning surgery. I could easily make the point that a boob job is rooted in mental health. Trans people have access to an extensive amount of drugs and mental health counselors/facilities.

Do we treat anorexia by telling the patient they are in fact not skinny enough and just removing the stomach surgically ?

Dems are releasing it now so they can point to it and say "See!! We didn't force him out! His health was too bad to continue on!"

Literally throwing the POTUS to the wolves.

While their mindless voters pretend it was Joes decision.

LOL at thinking that you can get more turnout in these groups that existed in the stolen 2020 election.

We provide mental health care.

But surgery IS an option experts (doctors) recommend in some cases where a patient wants to do something about their body mass.

Are there people that believe trans people don't deserve or are not entitled to mental health care?

Women often suffer from low self esteem and other mental issues that lead them to getting elective surgeries. Should we force insurance companies to cover that? What if a depressed 12 yr old girl with severe body image issues believes that a boob job could make her happy. I'm sure you're ok with that as well?

Censorship is always the mark of the wrong side.

But you guys go ahead and pretend otherwise.

Yup - Its first and foremost a mental condition that needs severe treatment to rectify.
