I think in the end it would have been too damaging to Scott and other down ballot Republicans who have been denouncing measure 4 as "extreme" for Trump to come out as a yes vote. The waffle has been interesting. It is a very tough issue for the GOP. And they are not done trying to square that circle.

This isn't a proposed law change. This is a proposed constitutional amendment change.

Trumps option here is to support the amendment or kill it. Supporting it means permanent abortion til birth. Opposing it means heartbeat bill remains law

Those are the only two options here. Trump initially stayed out of it (cowardly), then indicated he would vote for it (betrayal), then waddled and said he would vote against it (good!)

I sincerely hope he tackles this head on, campaigns with RDS on defeating thos radical human sacrifice bill, and shows base he will fight and lead on what is right. That would go a long for me and others like me

But Trump goes up there and continuously runs on his ability to know people and run things like a business. What would you say of a CEO who got tricked into hiring a bunch of bad senior managers for his entire 4 year tenure after claiming they were the expert he handpicked to save the company?

Trump got significantly better over time and it’s not exactly like a business because of it was he could have been more patient with hires and it wouldn’t have to be voted on by others to be approved.

We were literally discussing Jenna Ellis, a non-appointee who joined his team in 2020. My point is Trump doesn’t get to have his cake and eat it too. You can’t run on being “the best at people” then turn around and whine that your people suck.
