I want the Dems to lose, but I don’t like Trump. I prefer Trump over Harris. Trumps poison for the party. We lost the senate because he backed losers in PA and GA. . He talks **** about GOP governors that win states he can’t. The majority of his Presidential cabinet can’t stand him. He never admits he’s wrong. He’s learned absolutely nothing on why and how he lost last time.

Agreed. I want Kamala to lose more then anything and hope that happens. Trump is less awful by a comfortable margin.

But a Trump also means an end to the conservative party in this country. We are ****ed either way

I replied with the calculus conversation about price controls and government Healthcare

You said he hasn't said anything about government Healthcare

I replied with his calls for free IVF and other substance.

You then dropped any notion of a debate and conversation and went straight to me being mentally unwell

Probably the right move for you. Substance convo was not moving in a favorable direction for you. Best to keep it at 3rd grade level

Can someone who is interested in substance explain to me how a call for a free federally funded, IVF (an enormously expensive procedure) for all is not national health care?

It’s an appeal to emotion. Why should someone with cancer subsidize someone’s IVF, vice versa?
 
I have a lot of sympathy for those ready to have kids but can’t get pregnant. We have a family member in that situation who couldn’t afford IVF, so we all chipped in to help pay for the treatment. I recognize there are some who would like IVF but don’t have a support network to help them pay for IVF treatments. It feels bad denying them the ability to birth children.

But Sturg is right. It IS government mandated healthcare, and it is a slippery slope argument towards free universal healthcare. Healthcare isn’t a luxury good. There’s always going to be a sympathetic argument to cover every type of healthcare treatment.

The only sustainable solution for universal healthcare is if technology advances to a point where the cost of care is small.

National healthcare IS universal healthcare. They're synonyms. You can make the call this is a slippery slope toward that but something that is government mandated doesn't make it national healthcare anymore than it being universal healthcare.
