Why do 5 star QBs keep going to UGA when it's blatantly clear Smart has no interest in playing them?
It’s not and now the ncaa is debating adding a 5th yr for everyone

I have no problem with players getting paid but since they are I think they should have to sign contracts like the pros do. No more transfer portal shopping around every year. You sign for 3 years and can't play for any other school for that time.
Aren't you a lawyer? Surely you recognize that isn't possible right?
NIL is essentially endorsement deals. You can't restrict a player's ability to make money. The most you could do is structure NIL deals so that a certain NIL collective has exclusive rights to that players NIL and requires a buyout for that player to leave. OF course, you would have to get all the schools on board with doing that (and even then, the player's might have a legitimate case for collusion). But you can bet that no top tier players are gonna sign with a school that forces players to sign something like that when other schools don't.
Well NIL is never going away, even with contracts. So it won't ever not be a factor. If the school is directly paying the player, that also creates issues. Are you gonna have buyouts? Why can coaches leave on a whim, but not the players? Are schools gonna pay each player the same amount? Who determines how much a player and/or each sport is paid? Do private schools have less restrictions since they aren't funded by taxpayers?
I mean I think what Striker is saying is NIL should go away and college players should sign contracts.
The NIL is NEVER going away. There is too much money involved for player's and the collectives. Athletes will still be eligible to make money outside of their sport through NIL deals regardless if it is through a collectives or not. So you can be sure the collectives will want a piece of that pie.
I really don't see how contracts are gonna change much. Maybe it will help the smaller schools and the lower rated players to "lock up" their star players before they become star players. But the top 200 or so (maybe more) HS recruits will never sign that. They will take the NIL money and choose to have the option to jump schools if they aren't getting playing time or promises weren't kept, without a hinderance of a buyout clause.
Just make college like the pros. You sign a contract with a team, you get paid, NIL is handled via agents, unions, agreements, etc. There's no transfer portal, just free agency if you sign a contract for less than three years, etc.
College is only masquerading as amateur at this point. Stop the charade and just do it.
Carson Beck to the portal. I remember UGA fans telling me he was the gonna be QB1 this draft, lol.
I don't understand this, he'd probablyh be a day 2 draft pick unless he ****ed up his combine, he obviously doesn't think he has an NFL career if he's looking to hold out one more year for a lower draft pick as the next draft class is stronger. This draft class is full of guys who weren't considered top picks in last draft (Maye and Williams came out first year iof eligibility so you can't just pin it as a new trend)
But does he think he's QB1 in a draft with Arch Manning, Nico Iamaleavo, Sellers, Nussmeier, etc. Like he went from QB3/4 to probably QB10.
