My argument is pretty directly that there’s no universal truth that what makes someone a man, a concept defined by humans to account for differences we observed between two sets of people, is their genitals rather than their other traits that you state are inherently masculine or feminine. Whatever the ****ing relevant statutes and a jury of his peers say, man. I’m not in favor of violent crime simply because I don’t think the state should get to sentence people beyond statutory limits based on the vibes of the case or whatever.

I would sentence him according to the applicable statutes, because that’s what the judge’s role is in the process. If I thought the sentencing guidelines were too strict or lenient, I suppose I’d have to call my local representative or use my influence as a judge to advocate for changes.

Again, it should be whatever the applicable laws say, because law and order is a two-way street. You wouldn’t accept me saying we should sentence him to *less* than the applicable statute, would you? Provide a hypothetical sentencing range based on the laws he broke and I’ll be happy to spitball an answer for you. It sounds like a pretty severe and violent crime, so I’ll probably choose somewhere in the higher end of the range.
