I don’t really see it as misdirection. I think ideas should be able to be defended based on what they mean and the underlying principles that inform that opinion. Would you prefer it if I gave you a left-wing talking point about fascism or social justice being more important than free speech? There’s nuance in these things, and I think different scenarios connect more than you’re willing to grant.

Show me anyone who has been deported for reporting Gaza stats.

The only ones who have been deported have been Hamas supporters.
