GDT 6/3/25: Braves vs Diamondbacks - Harris Back Where He Belongs

I can understand not chasing wins if you’re ten games over .500. The Braves, to say the least, are not in that position. They better be chasing wins. Just another not so smart comment from Snitker.
 
Serious question. Say you are acuna or ozuna, heck even Olson and you are playing every night and you continue to see the manager make obvious decisions that clearly are wrong and that contribute to the team getting in a bigger hole. As a human do you just sort of give up and just stop trying so hard. Not completely give up but sort of just half ass it. It has to be frustrating.
 
Riley and Olson were slamming bats and such in dug out last night. Hopefully their frustration at failing leads to the realization that snit is hamstringing this team.
 
It has to be frustrating that no matter how hard you work, it has the potential to be undermined on almost a nightly basis because of poor decision making. And if you are Ozuna and Acuna and probably Ozzie to some level, who have been publicly vilified for bad decisions, watch both AA and twit make bad decisions over and over and over again.. We already know that Acuna still holds some level of animosity towards the situation.. so that air was never cleared..
 
The Braves have 8 more games before their next off day and before they host (what should be a sweep) the Rockies. If the Braves do poorly the last two games vs. Arizona and bomb out in San Francisco and Milwaukee, that would be a good time for big staff changes.

You can't do it at the All Star Break this year because it's in Atlanta.

He might survive, but the cord is being cut afterwards. The due date is October, but like his actual birth it might be premature.
 
SS is a black hole and LF is a black hole. I know other guys are underperforming but we know the talent is there and those guys are under contract so we will have to live with them. I don't think Profar is gonna come back and be anything except pre 24 levels off the juice. If we can't eat half his contract and get rid of him then make him an expensive 4th OF'er next year and throw your chips at Kyle Tucker. This nickle and diming around the edges during your contention window needs to stop and push chips in somewhat. SP is looking like the biggest need in the offseason though and after AA shit the bed last offseason I think we'll see a completely different GM this time around.

And I don’t think AA didn’t shit the bed. He did what he was told to do. “Don’t spend any money and reset the tax”
 
twit will get his farewell tour and go out a Brave's legend for all the years of service. Book it. This org looks at hiding in the minor leagues for 50 years as dedication and hard work.

I completely agree that his hands were tied but his comments about that not being the case (we know better) makes it look like he shit the bed to most casual fans.

He shit the bed by not signing one of the many affordable pitching options that wouldn’t have put us over the threshold when we had so many question marks on the pitching staff. And instead giving a huge chunk of that to a one year wonder for LF who sucks at defense.

Yep. But they can’t tell Joe Public that they are going to sit the off-season out, and that they are good enough as is to probably win the division if things go smoothly, so come to the ballpark every night and run your credit card up in the battery on $24.99 tomahawk burgers and $14.00 Terrapin ales while you are it.
