No it isn't. They would be doing Ozuna a favor. he can freely go join what ever team he wants and actually get at bats. shoving him on the bench to play once a week would be worse for him... and playing him every game would be worse for the Braves.

All true. My only point is that he may have reasons we are unaware of and we have to accept that. It might not make sense to us. I think from a baseball standpoint, he's crazy to not want to leave. He's not going to build up value playing half-time for the rest of the season.

Why? He quite clearly isn't a better option than Baldwin or Murphy at this point and he's a FA in 2 months. I feel pretty certain he wouldn't want to ride the pine for most of the next 2 months.

Always a gamble when you are trading for 18-year-olds, but depending on which pitchers head to the A's, that's a decent deal for them. As I said above, there just wasn't a package we could have put together for Miller.

I imagine Preller is playing spin-the-bottle to come up with some salary dumps to keep his budget in balance.

You could have gotten Jhaon Duran and another decent pitcher (maybe even Bailey Ober) for that package. Instead you send a top 20 overall prosect for a league average closer and a 5th starter.
