Jays should have interest in Iggy right? Not many closers left on the market.
I suppose it's nice to say that at least we aren't the Pirates. They are gonna piss away Paul Skene's prime. Dude would have 30 career wins already if he played on the Dodgers
This, he's likely a decent set up guy. valuable, but nothing crazyI don't think any team views him as a closer at this point.
Best thing the Pirates could do is trade Skenes in the offseason. They would get an absolute load of players that could help them. Skenes arm is gonna explode at some point and they aren't going anywhere anytime soon.I suppose it's nice to say that at least we aren't the Pirates. They are gonna piss away Paul Skene's prime. True. You don't get to where he is without having a bit of an edge and belief in one's self. My only gripe has been his narrowmindedness on how to move things along. He wouldn’t be the first GM or coach to get too big for his britches after a nice run of success. Happens a lot.
They really are gonna waste him.Best thing the Pirates could do is trade Skenes in the offseason. They would get an absolute load of players that could help them. Skenes arm is gonna explode at some point and they aren't going anywhere anytime soon.
No doubt. They really are gonna waste him.
He will be a Dodger or NYY in a year or two.
I think we as fans often forget that players are people and not commodities. Ozuna likely has reasons why he'd veto a deal if he is indeed intent on dictating his destination. Odd thing is that he will probably be looking for a new baseball home this off-season at any rate.Iggy has tanked his value this year and the Braves tanked Ozunas the past 2 months. I don't know why Ozuna would wanna stay bc he will get like 10% of the DH duties going forward and his value will really suck in the offseason.

I get it from a personal standpoint but he won't get any playing time here and he's gonna be looking for a new deal in the offseason and what he does the rest of the year will dictate what he gets.I think we as fans often forget that players are people and not commodities. Agree. All you do is cycle your young stars for prospects and if any of the prospects turn out, you end up trading them or another set of prospects, and so on and so on and so on.if you trade away young stars what are you even doing?
Whats the thought process behind ever being goood?
It's almost impossible for a team to put together the fair value to acquire something like that anyway.
All true. My only point is that he may have reasons we are unaware of and we have to accept that. It might not make sense to us. I think from a baseball standpoint, he's crazy to not want to leave. He's not going to build up value playing half-time for the rest of the season.I get it from a personal standpoint but he won't get any playing time here and he's gonna be looking for a new deal in the offseason and what he does the rest of the year will dictate what he gets.
That's a good way to deter players from signing hereIf the Braves fail to trade Ozuna, then they should DFA him. There is zero reason to play him ever again. Baldwin should play everyday.. Murphy needs to see if he can build his trade value for this off season.
