I’ve said it before but it’s been a long time, this country would be in a much better place if America’s left largely resembled mqt.

I disagree with him pretty broadly on policy, but he’s rational and thoughtful. I would prefer a Reagan/Tip O’Neill or Clinton/Gingrich tone over what we get with Trump or MTG vs AOC or Crockett.

His tone is great. His willingness to engage is great.

But so far he is willing to vote for (D) no matter what... and that no matter what is quite insane

You’re not describing a mental illness associated with someone suffering from gender dysphoria. You’re describing someone else having a reaction to the mistreatment of their loved one as mental illness because that loved one has one that needs to be solved. Are we going to ban any and all traits that could lead to discrimination or bullying just in case those people have boyfriends who might commit violence?

By all means, mental illness likely played a role here. It was a senseless murder, after all. But a belief or an opinion isn’t itself a mental illness, and we’re not describing a situation where a trans person committed violence after receiving gender-affirming care or ignoring mental illness or whatever.

This person was clearly radicalized by an ideaology that lifts up and supports mental illness

A healthy society would have this killer helping his boyfriend with mental illness treatment he needs, not pretending its normal and killing anyone who disagrees

I’m still waiting for you to present me with this obvious link between the mental illness of someone with gender dysphoria that require immediate intervention and the illegal actions of someone else who is not suffering from it. You can’t just imprison all the trans folks for their beliefs, so your only defense here is to claim they themselves are a danger to themselves and others because of their mental health. So show your work here on how that conclusion can be drawn here to trample the constitutional rights of these Americans.

For a guy that can’t connect the dots with his voting record and ideology putting other innocents in danger, seems like you are asking a lot

Then given the amount of mentally ill people who are not transgender or dating someone who is transgender committing murder, I’d question the solution of violence in this country being making changes based on the identity of this shooter’s partner.
