Hahahahahahaha
No? You just make it a law that people get one of these fucking things and take their picture like you would with any other form of ID. You just don’t charge them for the service.

Who said charge them. Get your ass into an issuance agency free of charge and bring necessary documentation to get one. This isn’t hard.

We talked about the Boston Tea Party a lot during our weekend trip there and it brought up the whole “no taxation without representation” motto. Maybe it’s time to update it. “No representation without taxation.” If you aren’t a net tax payer, you also aren’t a voter. People who aren’t paying for the pizza shouldn’t be dictating the toppings.

Then I’m essentially agreeing with you. But for the reasons Cajun stated, I’d think if you do a voter ID law for federal elections, you need to federalize it and throw actual resources at it to stop states from fuckery.

This is just sort of how you get the Proles from 1984.

And what would actually happen is nearly unlimited availability but the left would still cry racism. Just like the idea that blacks don’t know how to use a computer and expecting them to know where the dmv is is racist.

This is the dream. That’s the golden age.

I have brought this up before as I think its tge only moral way to do voting. 2 people voting themselves a third person's stuff isnt Democracy its still theft. I think we should also get a say in how our tax money is spent so that there is real accountability to the people.

About the Tea Party did anyone mention the taxation was to fund the British Army whose presence was the reason no one else tried to invade. So it was really about taxation. Having 1 representative who has no power to do anything wouldn't have changed anything.

You realize that none of these “votes” were taken away from tallies right?
Illegal votes are absolutely taken away from tallies.

You realize you just fell for propaganda rage bait right? The woman basically said if the person comes in to vote and has a real ID and a valid name/addess, and illegally signs an affidavit saying they can vote that it will possibly be flagged.

You're beyond obtuse.

First there's no system in place ever that can 100% be fraud proof. It doesn't exist any system is only as strong as its weakest point of defense.

Secondly you keep accidentally making the point that Voter ID laws are basically worthless because your entire argument is built around someone getting an ID which you can absolutely do as an immigrant.

Thirdly, if your argument is that immigrants shouldn't have licenses you're fucking insane.

Sure, the left is wrong to explicitly paint voter ID as a race issue. It *is* true that a disproportionate number of people adversely affected by such laws are going to be non-white, but it’s a class/location issue, not a race one. It is much, much easier for me, with my own car, relatively free mobility from my job and ability to pay for my ID to adhere to such a law than someone who takes a bus to their factory job and their part-time side job that still just barely pays their rent. That’s not not a problem for a potential voter to face, but it’s not racist or something we couldn’t legislate around.

They keep insisting illegals vote but can't find more games a handful in the whole country.

It tickles my funny bone when every 6 months or so they find one instance of voter fraud and claim it supports their claims of a vast conspiracy. The last one tricked his way into being a superintendent in a red state and is apparently basically a Bond villain, and I’m supposed to believe he’s representative of a larger problem of thousands of day laborers from Guatemala or Mexico voting in elections?

Now we’re heading for the Dolist run state from Honor Harrington.
Sure, there’s bad outcomes on both sides, but I’d absolutely argue that restricting voting rights to only the net tax payers would have the direct effect of drastically limiting upward mobility out of the non-tax payer class.

The problem with voter ID is the shenanigans that would be played with them. Things like cutting the hours of the place they can get them 6 months before the election. Delaying IDs being sent out so they can't use them to vote. Etc. So if the want it then they need to make commitments that they can't arbitrarily reverse when they are in power. Things like a certain amount of locations based on population density. Maybe be 24/7 for 6 months before the election and have a way ti get tge ID that same day. But we all know even if Republicans comitted to it they would get all those things furst chance they got.
Well there should be a standard of mandatory cut off dates first of all. I can't rightly expect the government to rush my Passport request 2 weeks before my European trip and then be mad that I didn't get it in time. I knew my travel dates months ahead of time and the onus was on me to get it taken care of in a timely manner.

Voting dates are well known by everyone. You can even early vote. So anyone complaining they can't get a DL or some sort of universal voter photo ID 1 month or less before an election is not a serious person and they get no sympathy.

Voting is a right. International vacations are not. Even with IDs people should be able to place provisional ballots with a finger print and photo of them taken to confirm identity.

So the ederly can't vote? Stay at home Moms can't vote? College Students can't vote? Newly turned 18 year olds can't vote?

Yeah, I don't see that happening.
