New Manager Discussion

The Braves aren't one to make a big announcement during the LCS or WS to take away from it so I would be shocked if we heard about a hire until right after the WS is over.

It's been awhile and it's not completely the same, but we removed the interim tag off of Snitker during the NLDS in 2016. We'll know something by the end of next week, imo.

If they hire Weiss as the next manager, I will lose all faith in this organization. In fact, I would spearhead a case study on how they went from one of the smartest franchises in the league to one of the dumbest overnight.
Same. If the reports are true that they haven't spoke to Dero or Ross about an interview that's scary.

There are several options better than Ross, and almost anyone is better than an MLB network talking head.

As long as they are talking to the good candidates I couldn't care less if they talk to those guys. The internal options have to be given a chat, that's just professional courtesy.

Yeah pretty much this

I would also think if they were going internal they'd have announced it shortly after snitker's retirement, but i'm not going to get my hopes up

A big investor was told MLB frowns on this pretty hard on a season ticket holder call last week or So.

They want all news to be on playoffs

If it were Weiss it would have been decided already and part of Snit's retirement presser for a seamless transition.

Weiss would have been there.

Ross isn't that big on analytics and DeRo managed a mostly all star team for a few weeks a few years ago.

I think it's a good thing.

These guys shouldn't feel like Atlanta is their sanctuary and that they're owed a chance to manage here just because they played under Bobby and lean more towards the old school style of managing. They aren't dumb they know the Braves have an attractive core and roster and are as ready to get back to the playoffs as any other team looking for a manager right now.

If AA is waiting for Lehmann to finish out Dodgers season then it makes sense. Lombard just finished up the season with DET.
