Michael Sam

Are you new to this board? If you don't agree with yeezus, you are a bigot or ignorant, or most likely both

He is a young fledgling who is just really forming his ideologies in a mature manner. He will understand the world soon enough.

Like the Sirens reference. That's actually a pretty funny show.

I will admit, the only channel I watch is USA channel, seriously, THE ONLY ONE. I see previews of this show and I saw it was gay laden. I don't watch it but I heard it is funny and USA at that time at night is allowed to use sexual stuff and actually cuss words, no F bombs which is the only word I have yet to hear on there but all the others are fair game.

I am a CSI, Burn Notice and other crime drama show person if I elect to watch TV which is really really rare. Braves baseball, Broncos football and Illinois basketball is the only things I watch, no ESPN (which we don't get) no reality sh!t shows, no of anything, all crap TV to me. I don't watch the news either because it is drenched in left and right sh!t that I can't stomach.

LGBT is the new NAACP. Full of Double standards and attacking anyone who disagrees with them.

Lulz.

I have no opinion on Sam, kudos for him for branding. My favorite part is the "I'm sick of hearing about Sam, so lets complain about it online/write another article about it" if you don't give a **** about Sam being gay, then ****ing ignore it. No one cares.

Yep. I don't care, so I'm going to write a pissy article about how much I don't care.

When did we start getting energy tanks and how does one go about obtaining more energy tanks? Do we need to search the website chopcountry.com? Are there hidden paths that lead us to these energy tanks? Julio seems to have found a lot of them.

The first time I watched Sirens after Raw one night, they were using sexual words and phrases that I didn't even think you could say on cable tv. Not to get OT but did you know that Vinnie Mac has say and final decision on what comes on USA after Raw? That's some power right there.

Imagine that, a blog writer writing about something that is wall-to-wall, "Yay! Hurrah!!" I'm thinking some of you are having difficulty making a distinction between what a guy is and the hype machine. It's not a hard distinction to make. One can not care about who a guy puts his penis in and the machine that wants us all to know it and cheer it because the guy can play a decent college football game.

Peace.

I watch Raw from time to time if I am not too lazy to turn on the TV and never saw the show, usually I get CSI which I like.

Doesn't surprise me with the language, there is another show that cuss a lot as well but escapes me on which one.

Pure hype and he is pining for a Reality TV show on the Oprah network. He is cashing in regardless and the liberal sheep are eating this up. I applaud him for milking the sheep with a coordinated kiss and cake, so if he bombs in the NFL, he will get cash with the hoopla from there and then have his own show or star for the gay themed Sirens.

Kerry Rhodes

If your point is being gay in the NFL is no big deal. Kerry Rhodes is a piss example. Since he wasn't signed by anyteam after he was "outed" by his assistant. Despite in 2012 being regarded by many as one of the better safeties in the NFL. **** to this day I wish Kerry Rhodes was a Falcon.

There was a rumor that a tranny waS having a relationship with a falcons player on defense a few years ago. Many think it was Decoud.

Fellow players and GMs are two entirely seperate groups of people. You know that right?

I do for sure. But it's still a bad argument. If being gay was no big whoop Rhodes would be playing somewhere in the NFL right now.

Apparently it isn't an issue in an NFL locker room where 99% of the time is spent. Just because GMs don't want to take the plung (STL had a need a S, and is apparently open to the idea of bringing in a gay player) maybe there is something else to it?

My .02.

I don't care Michael Sam is gay. But to say it's not historic that he's the first openly gay player in NFL history is non-sense. Yes there might have been previous gay players in the league that weren't open or known about. There also might've been players that were outed a few years they were into the league. Sam is the first guy that everybody knew before he even stepped foot onto an NFL practice field or locker room that he was gay. Football is the All-American Male sport in this country, not baseball. It's the sport we enjoy seeing guys wreck each other, and encourage the big hit. Sam coming out is historic because it tests the tolerance of what is perceived to be a full-blooded testosterone male sport. What Sam did was brave, because even with his less than stellar combine, the fact he was the best defensive player in the best football conference, best conference division, and had 119 career sacks would've increased his value. Plenty guys have had less than stellar combines but have had decent NFL careers. You had guys like Kyle Boller that had great combines but sucked. I do think Sam's sexuality dropped him to 7th where he should've been a 4th or 5th round talent.

After watching the kiss again, it was a smooch. They weren't making out, they weren't having a prolonged embrace. He was crying, they kissed like other draft picks kissed their significant others, and they hugged and cried together. It's being way overblown by critics... and it's not like ESPN aired and replayed that kiss like 30 times. As a straight male, it didn't phase me at all. I actually felt happy for the guy knowing he accomplished a dream of being drafted. And again, what 7-10 year olds are watching the 7th round of the NFL draft? lol.

The Tebow comparisons are stupid. No football players cared that Tebow was a devout and open Christian, they only cared that he didn't have great skills to play QB. Nobody questioned his desire or motives for football, they only questioned his skills. A lot of NFL locker rooms are deeply religious even if it doesn't seem that way. The only people that didn't want to hear about his faith, were people that don't care much for faith.

To people that are upset he's getting a TV show on Oprah's channel over this, who cares? You aren't going to watch anyways.

If you're upset that ESPN aired the kiss live, then protest them. THey aren't stupid, if they thought this would hurt their ratings they wouldn't have shown it.

It's silly how much everyone is over blowing (no pun intended)this Michael Sam thing. He was a decent football player in college, now it's his chance to make an NFL team. I don't think the gay community will be pissed if he's cut like AA said, because they're just happy he made it, and his jersey is selling as well as Manziel's. Sam himself acknowledged he just wants an opportunity, and like 50 said I'm glad it was a football savvy guy like Jeff Fisher that picked him. I don't get why people are upset that Sam is taking full advantage of this opportunity off the field. It's his choice, and it's the free market.

You're just mad because now it means you have to see it on ESPN more.... which if you care about the free market then you'll stop watching. But you know every sports channel is likely going to cover Sam now. FS1, NBCSN, ESPN, and then Bleacher, CNNSI, Deadspin, etc. If Sam doesn't make it, he'll always be remembered as the first openly gay player to be drafted amongst an ocean of critics, he can keep his head held high because he was a pioneer, no matter how much you guys say you don't care he's gay. It was history. To have to constantly say you don't care he's gay, is just an indirect projection of homophobia IMO. It's the same thing with don't ask don't tell. I don't care if you're gay, just don't say anything about it and you can serve in the military and fight and die for your country! DADT put a cloud of shame on service members who feared they would lose their job if they openly admitted to their sexual orientation or if it was found out they were a certain way. The same people we ask to fight alongside our straight guys in the name of freedom... can't even let them be proud to fight for our country and who they are as a person.
