2025-2026 offseason thread

If I'm the Braves I hire someone to look into the circumstances of the injury. If he was doing something stupid I'd void the contract.
"Slipping on ice" does not sound like an action that would lead to the tearing of a tendon in your middle finger.

The far more likely injuries when slipping on ice are wrist-related.

There is actually an injury very common to baseball called "mallet finger" that you get in your middle finger when the ball hits the tip of your finger very hard.

The Braves once upon a time had a massive financial advantage. The Braves were the best team in the league when they signed a prime Greg Maddux and they almost signed Bonds.

Were you complaining then? It's a poor look.

The Brewers, Rays, and Guardians are consistent contenders recently with less than ideal financial situations.

There is no chance of a salary cap, so if you want that, you might as well just enjoy the NBA and NFL. I think MLB will figure out a way to pool the TV rights for the teams that were fucked by Bally's and we'll play ball in 2027 without a significant lockout.
Well I was like 3 years old when that happened so I’m sorry to disappoint you I won’t be able to share how I felt about the sport 30+ years ago. But I agree if I wasn’t complaining that the Braves signed one free agent that one time that would be a bad look.

The Braves had two really awful offensive positions last year: SS & CF. There are not any great SS's available at this point in the offseason and to play Mauricio Dubon there will leave them light on the bench. I propose that they should sign Isiah Kiner-Falefa to play SS with light offense and Cody Bellinger to play OF. He may still be able to play CF with solid defense and much better offense.
