2025-2026 offseason thread

See Ron Gant from the Braves riding a dirt bike, and Aaron Boone (current manager of the Yankees), who played pick-up basketball and got hurt, then admitted it and had his contract voided. Both were activities excluded by their contracts.

Yep. If Kim was out there doing something dangerous we could likely void his contract. As you noted it's not uncommon to see players lie about how they got hurt off the field.

If it comes out he was playing hockey or rock climbing or something, void the deal.

You people are a bunch of paranoid weirdoes. There's no way he could hurt his finger as a result of slipping on ice? Have you ever, you know, fallen? There are a thousand different ways Kim might have reached out to brace himself that could have a resulted in a finger injury. Weird stuff happens when you suddenly, unexpectedly slip and fall.

We should investigate? How? To what end? We send in Jessica Jones to, I don't know, try to somehow prove that Kim was lying about slipping on ice? That he was doing weird sex stuff instead? OK, so he was, and we void his contract. Then what? Instead of one or two months of Dubon and then the rest of the season with Kim, we get a full season of Dubon. Hurray? All so we can save $20 million for one season. There's not even a long-term commitment for us to rid ourselves of. And if we send in our crack team of trenchcoat-wearing, fedora-clad private investigators and it turns out Kim is telling the truth, congrats, your Steinbrenner maneuver dynamited your relationship with Kim and probably pissed off the rest of the locker room as well.

"Slipping on ice" does not sound like an action that would lead to the tearing of a tendon in your middle finger.

The far more likely injuries when slipping on ice are wrist-related.

There is actually an injury very common to baseball called "mallet finger" that you get in your middle finger when the ball hits the tip of your finger very hard.
Not only are you a dodger loving ifiot, you are just an idiot in general. You can go back to not posting. Thanks in advance

Seems like he shouldn’t get all the money with a negligent injury I am interested to see if that’s really what happened or if he was playing hockey or ice-skating.

One granddad spent some time in Korea 70 years ago. They do have some bitter winters over there.
