2025-2026 offseason thread

I know the market for pitchers is a little crazy at the moment, but it's pretty insane to think the Brewers are demanding more Peralta than they got for Burnes.

More than I thought Belli would get, but that's the market right now since the Dodgers have taken a massive dump on the economics of baseball.

the economics of baseball.
Finally, after two decades, Schuerholz’s alt has been unmasked.

You gave us all the clues, Mr. Policeman.

As Schuerholz told ESPN, "The economics in baseball stink. The economics stink, and if this isn't a clear enough signal to the doubters and naysayers, to be forced to trade an 18-game winner to your arch enemy ... The economics stink."

I think he can get it to a B+, generously an A- by getting a starting pitcher from the Bassitt/Giolito tier and grabbing one more versatile major league bench piece. Can’t give him a straight A when he doesn’t get an ace/strong No. 2 SP or a real big time bat. I also don’t think he got the manager he really wanted because he wouldn’t have sat on that for a whole month before announcing Weiss.

This seems more like speculation of being a fit rather than the Braves having an actual offer and being a “finalist under consideration.” I think we’d have to get him to agree to a long-term extension that’s attractive to him.

Mets and Dodgers probably have better offers than we do. Cant see AA outbid either. Dont even know why Dodgers need him, i guess with impending lockout they might as well go all in lol.

Signing Bassitt to something less than the Kelly deal gets AA to a very solid B.

A Peralta trade can get him anywhere from a C to a B+ depending on the cost.

The Weiss hire was so bad there’s no way he gets above that without doing something like Nacho for Peralta.

Are you that high on Bassitt? Or just see the need and believe he fits that fairly well given he will only cost money?
