Economics Thread

Have to pay Americans to do more production than chjnese slaves. The graph shows pretty clearly a big spike once Trump came into office and tariffs are a pillar of his economic policy.

We are seeing real median wages go up again. Most be lucky?
But there is no evidence that is happening, at least in regard to job growth in the manufacturing sectors

Lived in Suffolk county but visited most of the townships out there for a sales job out there first summer in college. A lot of fun.
Suffolk? Exploded the last 30 years but potentially wne you were there it still wasn't built up a bunch.

Love Long Island and am holding out as hard as possible to stay here for good. Florida is calling though....

Especially when he presents a graph showing globalism failed Americans not at the top of the food chain
Americans have benefitted enormously the last 50 years. It’s okay to acknowledge that even if you accept the premise that chess board was long overdue to be flipped.

The poorest in this country have little food insecurity. Own state of the art computers in their pockets. Access to education.

It’s not perfect here and there’s wisdom in identifying ways things can be better. But America never stopped winning

Your assumption is this couldn't have happened without Globalism?

I reject that notion completely.

And 50 years is an odd starting point as the whole point is that globalism hollowed out the center of the country. That takes ome time you know?

No need to Monday quarterback how it happen. Only that it happened. And we boat raced the rest of the world while it happened

Again - Not because of Globalism.

This is like saying California is an economic powerhouse because of the leftist leadership the last 10-20 years.

Or America is great again because of tariffs

Well we saw a flattening of median wages for 15 years (clearly impacts of globalism and gutting our manufacturing base) and then all of a sudden a spike when someone dared questions the status quo and change things.

Tariffs are brining more investment to our shores. I know you understand that. I know you know that takes time and I know you know how much is being built up in 2026.
