TLHLIM

Okay, so what do we do if the vast majority of patients being “mutilated” are happy with their treatment? Should I question a procedure or treatment only if it can be described in a grotesque fashion?

How can I trust my own brain when both sides of the debate require me to listen to some authority? One is the authority of “common sense” as you see it and the other is the authority of doctors. You’re not offering more concrete evidence, are you?
They are “happy” because of the artificial ecosystem of “being brave”. As that expires since nobody is identifying as trans anymore these “happy” people will be miserable.

Every social ecosystem is artificial, by what standard should I question their happiness? Should I do the same thing with people who aren’t transitioning?

You should use that thing you have called a brain.
Again, how exactly would that work? You can’t just say it doesn’t make sense because your own appeal to authority and move on. Something being confusing or counterintuitive doesn’t mean it’s dumb to accept people might be right about it.

this is remarkable, he's just saying he needs someone to tell him what to think

I mean I already knew that but didn't expect an admission
You’re trying to tell me what to think without providing any evidence greater than a lawsuit and those same organizations you’re complaining about changing their guidance. This isn’t some natural, observable phenomenon I can use my own lived experience to evaluate.

I don’t need *someone* to tell me what to think because otherwise I’d believe all things at once on it just because.

I know you don't believe in inherent truths in life but making this vague argument doesn't apply when teh question is "Should we be chopping off 14 year olds dicks"

The difference is that you are ready to completely reverse your decade long held views as long as a authority changes their mind

My beliefs are the same today as they were yesterday. Fauci telling me that masks work the day after telling me they didn't didn't require me to go to some study or analysis. My position remained the same

What a joke - The left is truly evil. We shouldn't ever try to reason or compromise with them.

They must be 'controlled' until we learn how to deprogram their radical shift leftward the last 30 years.

Ah yes, a new epistemological axiom: there are no inherent truths unless a conservative can explain it barbarically. You might just be the next Descartes.

Great - You can rationalize whatever you want in your mind.

Nobody should have to tell you that chopping of a 14 year olds dick is a bad thing.

Its an indictment on you that it is needed.

Because medicine and science evolves over time. My decade-long held belief is based solely on the information available because I have no other means of testing that belief. When both doctors and patients suggest something is the right course of action on something that affects that patient, it is not clever or brave for me to inherently doubt it without some clear reason to. I’ve not yet changed my view on this in light of what you’ve shared here, but I’m willing to change my view because I still am not trans and am still not an expert. If studies and evidence suggest a change in the guidance, I have no reason to question the change.

Nobody needs to waste their time telling me if this is a good or bad thing because I am not a 14-year-old trying to have such a surgery.
