Rangers fans must be praying this fixes his issues at the plate because that is a huge contract to bite the bullet on.

I wonder what poster on this board said that this was a horrible trade for the Rangers? Hmmmmmm. Meanwhile Ian Kinsler is rolling. But yeah Texas won that trade.

that's not really a good thing

Well, that would depend on your perspective - wouldn't it?

Fielder is an elite hitter. Yeah, he's fat, but so was his Dad (who had no problems stringing together a pretty decent career). He'll eventually be able to transition into a DH role and plays his home games in Arlington.

It's far too early to judge the trade.

He was an elite hitter. He wasn't last year and is 30 years old this year. If he's under contract for 6 more years that's likely going to become an albatross of a contract. Big 1B rarely age well. They are one of the quickest to decline in skill.

Funny thing is with the whole SportsNet LA dispute, most of Los Angeles didn't see it. Saw the final out on MLB.com. Struck out Utley on a fastball down the middle. Looked like Chase was thinking something else was coming.

On another note, I miss Alanna Rizzo on MLB Network.

Josh Beckett tosses a no hitter against the Phillies. First Dodgers no hitter since 96 when Hideo Nomo no hit the Rockies.
