GDT #49 5/25/'14: Rockies (Morales) @ Braves (Teheran) 5:10 PM EST

Man, this homer stuff is fun to watch in the regular season but I just don't think its going to play out like this in the postseason.

Justin has ridden himself of the May stinks.

Now that we know he can hit in:
April (2)
May (1)
August (1)

All he needs to conquer is June-July-September and most importantly October.

If someone's hot it will be fine. Manufacturing runs is much harder than hitting doubles and homers. Every team is streaky, but this collection of players seems to make for an ultra-streaky team. If we have 1 or 2 hot hitters, we win a lot.

So do you guys think that Justin would take a discount to stay in ATL with his bro? It would be great if things start to get better for BJ so tthe two are happy and performing at the same time.

I don't know man, I think its harder to hit homeruns off of great pitching than to work counts and get singles/doubles.

IMO we just had no one hot in the playoffs last year. No one hot towards the end of the season. I don't think this team, as constructed, is any worse of a playoff lineup than any. We need some luck and a hot streak. JMO

A discount? Hahha

He will command at least the same type of contract his brother got. That would be his "discount." I am thinking more along the lines of 18 a season though.

Getting him for what BJ got would be a discount for the type of player he is.

"Small ball" is the key to postseason success for the reason stated. When the Yankees were winning four of six WS, they were brilliant in working counts and putting the ball in play--one heartbreaking Leyritz bomb notwithstanding.

I can't think of a team that won it all with an over-reliance on the long ball.
