GDT 4/23- The Legend of JR Ritchie (and Harris= George and Weezy)

I understand it's hard to accept facts that don't fit a homer narrative. That doesn't change the fact that an 11th percentile Chase% is a problem, and will always be a problem no matter what the current hot streak looks like.

I am sorry facts offend you.
While not ideal, you can build an all star team with plenty of players with high chase rates.

Harris has never carried a high K rate, despite a high chase rate. As long as he's hitting the ball hard consistently, he's going to hit well. Maybe not the .900 OPS monster he's showing to be right now, but he can easily be a .800-.850 OPS hitter, even with a poor chase rate.

Seems like JR got hurt on 2 pitches in the middle of the plate, and got good results otherwise.

Looking forward to seeing how his stuff stacks up against guys with deep repertoires like elder and Schwelly tomorrow.

And once again, a failed gotcha attempt. "Remember" was obviously a figure of speech.

One day you guys will get one. Keep trying.
So teams do remember he likes strikes, and they keep throwing them to him anyways when they could easily get him out with balls. Got it.

Since he changed his stance last year (around about 7/18), he's had 359 PAs and is carrying a 133 wRC+ (before today's game).

But yeah. it's totally because teams started throwing him more strikes.....
