REAL FOOTBALL Thread

This draft is fairly weak on upper tier first round talent, but the value in this draft is the first 3 rounds and WR is actually one of the deeper positions.

There are still 3 guys available right now who have WR1 upside still. Boston and Branch both had first round grades by many analysts. Brazzell may have the highest upside in the draft with his length and speed.

So no, I don't think a 27 year old number 2 WR was worth the cost given up, even in a fairly weak draft class.,
The receivers in this draft are nothing special.
Mostly number 2 guys. Plus we don’t know how these guys will turn out. 27 isn’t old, btw. Courtland Sutton will be 31 this year and he’s still solid. He can still be good when he’s 31 or 32. Broncos are a win now team. Late first round picks are often ass. The Broncos have a terrible track record drafting Wide Receivers so no thanks to them drafting a Wide Reciever at 30, lol

Falcons got Branch. I think it's been successful so far, I wanted Brazzell for his ability to stretch defenses but now we have another playmaker. With him and Bijan our screen game is gonna be crazy.

Your Division is very winnable. The trade they made last year for the edge rusher they drafted in round 1 turned out to very good move. Now need better coaching

He's perfect opposite Drake. Drake is gonna have a lot of room to operate in the short to mid game when defenses have to worry about Branch making plays.

I like this draft. JPJ seems like he’ll get to play again too (I know he’s a crazy insane bad person but Falcons need him to be on the field)

6 teams traded their 1st in this class. It's not viewed as a great draft class. And Waddle is a top 15 WR, way more than a #2 if used right. Denver was right making that move. They have a pretty complete roster for the most part.

LMAO
Waddle is NOWHERE near a top 15 WR. He is around 22, if I don't include the 2025 rookies like MacMillan and Egbuka

I think Falcons day 3 picks are also great. Kendal Daniels is a talented LB he fits the kind of LB Ulbrich likes. Seems like the kind of guy to back up Diablo and maybe take over. Thompson is a coachable potential DT. He probably doesn't work out but he's a good gamble. And Perkins was a beast of prospect before his injury. He could be a decent special teamer or a potential long term stud.

Well Falcons took someone unrated by every draft board. Seems to be gambling on a big guy they hope to coach. I don't like OL late in the draft because usually this is good ST value.

Waddle is easily better than Egbuka and TMac.
Waddle may be better than those guys, but he's got 5 years of experience, only 2 of them he's averaged over 70 yards per game and he's neve rhit double digit TDs. Last year. Last year 11 receivers beat the 70 yards per game mark, 2 more who didn't hit that mark hit double digit TDs (Adams and Higgins) Year before 15 receivers hit 70+ yyards per game 7 more get TDs, with 1 getting TDs but not yards. (McLaurin)

Waddle honestly is probably not a top 20 WR. Like if you look at WRs you have rough tiers.

Top tier - Debated Breaking this into multiple top tiers, but basically recent AP1s
Jefferson
Chase
Puka
JSN
St. Brown
Lamb

Really good and could either be potentially joining as top tier, or used to be but are older
Brown
Adams
London
Olave
Collins
Pickens
Hill
Evans
Diggs

Guys who could get there but are young and/or have questions
Flowers
Nabers
Pierce
McLaurin
Ebuka
Tet

Guys I don't know what to do with but would rather ahve than waddle
JaMo
McConkey
Jennings
Aiyuk
Moore
Wilson

Then I have debates about other guys like Davonte Smith, Jakobi Myers, DK Metcalf, Rachee Rice, Addison, Godwin and Wan'Dale Robinson.

Like Waddle is a good WR, I don't think the trade is necessarily bad, but I don't know anyone who would call Waddle a top 15 WR in the NFL who's not a homer, he has no APs no pro-bowls (in the easiest era to get into the probowl) His career similar players according for pfref are Davonta Smith, Michael pittman, JD Hill, BillSchroede,r Duriel Harris, Percy Harvin, Ron Shankin, James Scott, Juju Smith-Schuster, Mervyn Fernandez, that's not a laundry list of talented players.

Both Tet and Egbuka exceeded more yards in their rookie seasons than Waddle has in either of the last 2 seasons.
Waddle was also getting way less targets b/c of Hill, and last year they had to dummy down the playbook b/c Tua has CTE. And cant read a defense.

Dude he got ALL the targets last year and Hill was ass in 2024. Waddle was 4th in targets on Miami's roster in 2024.
