Regardless though, Olson is clearly a really good player. If you're not gonna have FF, Olson is the clear #2 option to me.

Olson: .906 ops, 141 wrc+

They're both terrific defensively, and they've been equal offensively. fWAR paints a better picture showing them basically even

Freddie’s fallen off quite a bit defensively, even going by the eye test. There was a period where he couldn’t even move laterally without grimacing in pain.

Olson meanwhile has been easily been the best defensive 1B in baseball for several years now

And fangraphs shows that dip on FF esp the last 2 seasons vs Olson. Olson had a bad defensive season for him in 2023

No, no one would care about him. He might be better than both this season though, so it's relevant
