GDT #55, 5/31/14: Braves (Santana) vs. Marlins (Turner), 4:10 EDT

for a 9-5 game there sure was a lot of nervous moments. Just three pitches, but maybe we've got something in Simmons. One thing for sure, he wasn't nervous. We need someone besides Carpenter to front for CK.

Braves call ups are coming up and producing right away. It's amazing how many of them come up ready to play. That's a testament to what keeps this org going. Great a player development and prep.

Hope they give us the shot in the arm we needed.

This is true.

So has our offense come around? Played a lot better since that cards game two weeks ago

Heyward being productive is the key. Freeman's always gonna be consistent and Upton is a beast. Also, BJ is no longer a black hole.

If TLS looks good for a couple weeks, I hope we can move him up to #1 or #2, giving us a chance to move Heward down a bit. My favorite lineup would be:

1. TLS
2. Heyward
3. JUpton
4. Freeman
5. Gattis
6. BJ
7. CJoh
8. Simmons

Interesting - seems odd though bc intentional walks are usually both valuable, and are attributed to the skill of the hitter (i.e. pitcher not wanting to face him)

Sometimes attributed to the hitter but not always. I think today was an example of just wanting to setup the double play and a force at home. If I had any issue with woba as a stat this would be it. But it's too small of an issue to care about.

I am by no means against that lineup! If we are going to keep Jason in either the one or two, I'd personally go:

1. Heyward

2. TLS

3. JUP

4. Freeman

5. Gattis

6. BJ

7. Simba

8. CJoh

but, I wouldn't mind:

1. TLS

2. JUP

3. Freeman

4. Gattis

5. Heyward

6. BJ

7. Simba

8. Cjoh

Who knows? It's fun to think. My personal favorite is BJ, TLS, Freeman, JUP, Gattis, J-Hey, Simmons, Cjoh. But, I'm a bit of a Bossman homer, so...

So all we have available on Sunday is Varvaro, Hale, Wood, and Simmons, eh.
