GDT 7/5/14 ATL (HARANG) vs. ARI (BOLSINGER) 4:10 ET

No doubt BJ has been hitting better in the leadoff spot. Will it last? Who knows. But his projections for the rest of the year look like (just using counting stats):
20 2Bs, 9 3Bs, 13 HRs, 26 SBs.
Now the .214 average is awful, but overall it's at least much better than last year.
And he at least has a positive WAR this year.

If he can hover around .220 and continue to swipe bases...that's a win.

This is a perfect game for Hale to come in. Why waste S. Simmons?
You don't "waste" him. You get him easy work and keep your late inning guy sharp. Relievers like to pitch as regularly as possible.

And Hale is a multiple innings guy who has recently been stretched out. Using him for one inning in a blowout game would indeed be wasting him.

TLS with another ho hum 4 trips to the bases. That kid knows how to hit.

As we continue to move on his sample size becomes more and more relevant. Now at a 376 OBP. Benching Uggla for TLS might be the best upgrade any competitor makes all year. Not because TLS is great but UGgla was obviously that bad.

Just got home from a cookout, good win it seemed.

Harang with 7 IP, 1 run after the first, cant complain.

I'm still waiting for him to implode though...

What's more improbable. The 3 defensive errors we had (yes I'm counting a PB as an error) involving 2 of our 3 best defenders, or Freddie Freeman hitting a triple? How does freeman hit a triple without a motorcycle?

So nobody believes that Laird will be moved or waived when Gattis comes back?

Nope. Christian will move back to AAA so he can play everyday and keep improving. He doesn't need to be warming the bench. He'll be back with us in September.
