It would clearly be a transaction that would be out of balance.
We'd probably have to insist on an extra player just to even the scales.
So to speak.

don't think I can remember when the Braves were ever sellers at the deadline. Been a long time, if ever.
It looks like it's time to put Gattis back in the cleanup spot. The guys swing looks much better! I still say: BJ, Heyward, Freeman, Gattis, JUP, CJoh, La Stella, Simmons. I have nothing against La Stella in the two-hole, but I still like where he was.
BJ should not be leading off at all.
Should be.
Heyward, TLS, JUp, FF, Gattis, CJ, BJ, Simmons.
We traded Teixeira to the Angels for the highly touted prospect Jack Schit. What was that, 2007?
We can all agree that with Heywards complete lack of power and good OBP he is a good top of order hitter.
I think we can all agree that if he keeps putting up offensive numbers like he has this season he is not touching Freemen type money
BJ should not be leading off off.
So you want to take BJ out of the one spot where he has been effective and put a middle of the order hitter as the lead off hitter? BJ hasn't been terrible as a lead off hitter he is not a .280 hitter and that should not be expected of him. He's hitting, he's scoring runs and he's stealing bases while playing good defense I don't move BJ

To go along with your last post, if Heyward keeps putting up similar offensive numbers to this year, he's a much better lead-off hitter than BJ.
I still believe in his offensive potential and he's our best all-around player.
I agree but he's not worth the money he wants with this type of production is all I'm saying. He may get what he wants but it won't be in Atlanta

So what do you do with BJ then?
So what do you do with BJ then?
My personal lineup would be:
Heyward
Upton
Freeman
Gattis
La Stella
BJ (keep out of DPs)
Simmons
Johnson
I'd rather give him that money than risk losing him. He's just 24.
