Braves Trade Deadline Rumors

Teheran will be pitching more innings than ever before from around mid-August onward. That's scary.

There are two risks involved. One is that his performance will diminish as he gets tired. The second is a bigger risk of injury in subsequent seasons after a big increase in workload.

Both risks are real. They exist for all pitchers but are greater for young pitchers.

But it is a question of risk and probability. Increased likelihood of something happening doesn't mean it will. We can take steps to mitigate the risk to the team--by making a trade for another starter for example. It gives us some excess capacity, but chances are we're going to need it.

Was talking to c2c about this the other day....I brought it up to him and he hadn't even considered that fact. T is going to hit that wall, everyone does, we NEED to add a starter.

Yep. Too bad Wren didn't head that one off at the pass. Would love to have May/June Teheran in September/October.

Tell that woman to post here. I know he's doing his mormon missionary work but they must have internet there.

Glad to see you back here lurking after you said you were leaving for good. You're always welcome here. :Bunchie1:

Also: please no one tell Chip about these "luxury caps" that are apparently out there.

Why? Has he given up posting with us for the opportunity to have 8-10 wives?

He's really busy with school, internship and being a mormon...so he really doesn't have time. I can pass word along via text, that you have a boner for him and want him back.

Santana actually makes a lot of sense if you put weight in Stark's sources. Dayton's looking more for a 2B and or RF that could start for them in 2014 in return for him.

His choice of Pastornicky/La Stella, Terdoslavich, and a lesser arm as a "throw in" could fit for both sides. Santana's been much better outside of the spotlight in LA, and could thrive and enjoy things enough here to consider bringing him back following the season as well.
