Juan Jaime Optioned To AAA

Actually, it's probably going to be Simmons. Pretty sure I read that Fredi wants to get him some work in the Major League pen before sending him down for rehab. Which, doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.

Fredi is the world's greatest troll.

It's not going to be Simmons, he's not ready yet. Speculation is it will be a lefty, either Shreve or Avilan.

I hope it is Shreve. But he pitched last night. If they thought they were going to do this, they should have held him out of last night's game.

Avilan has not pitched that well in AAA. I'm a big fan of his, but I think Shreve is more deserving and the better pitcher at this point.

Is this a joke?

Avilan has been the worst option out of the bullpen all season. Why is he on the roster again?

May I ask why?

The guy has been terrible at Gwinett. A WHIP over 2, a 2:1 BB/K ratio. I actually really liked what I saw out of Jaime, his control is inconsistant and his fastball straight but he could fill a potential role in the future.

Upon further review...maybe not.

I do wonder why Shreve isn't up.

Sometimes I wonder about this organization's decision making. Avilan has been awful all year long, why would you bring him back up? Shreve has been great all year, yet he stays down. Odd.

Avilan had two shutout innings in his last AAA outing and the Braves were kidding themselves he'd gotten right. I'm betting arm problems.

Concur. Dude didn't look like he was struggling. He looked like he was hurt and/or fatigued. I can't fathom why he got the call.
