Corresponding move to be announced later.
Actually, it's probably going to be Simmons. Pretty sure I read that Fredi wants to get him some work in the Major League pen before sending him down for rehab. Which, doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.

Is this a joke?
It sounds like it, doesn't it? But, no, he actually said that. Unless I severely misread his comments.
May I ask why?
The guy has been terrible at Gwinett. A WHIP over 2, a 2:1 BB/K ratio. I actually really liked what I saw out of Jaime, his control is inconsistant and his fastball straight but he could fill a potential role in the future.
Upon further review...maybe not.
I do wonder why Shreve isn't up.
Sometimes I wonder about this organization's decision making. Avilan has been awful all year long, why would you bring him back up? Shreve has been great all year, yet he stays down. Odd.
Avilan had two shutout innings in his last AAA outing and the Braves were kidding themselves he'd gotten right. I'm betting arm problems.
