How Has Obamacare Affected Your Life?

I'm sorry 57. But sometimes life just isn't fair. I happen to work for a technology insurance company. And we'd go out of business if we agreed to repair every damaged product after it was already damaged. You won't be able to get fire insurance on your house if your house is currently on fire. It just is what it is. While not being able to deny folks with pre-existing conditions sound really cozy and will be great for those folks who need it, it will certainly bring a huge cost to the insurers, and someone is going to have to pay for that cost.

Yayyyy for comparing human lives to electronic devices.
Part of the bigger problem, maybe.

Sturg with the win.

I just won't get car insurance till I get in a wreck. Then I'll expect whatever insurance company I get to pay for the damages....

A lot of this still comes down to, as usual, the people at the top not willing to cut their pay, or their bonuses. In fact, most of them want to continue increasing them instead of worrying about their peon employees. I wish more people were upset about that, rather than being upset at attempting to get everyone health care. Which is, you know, the humane and right thing to do.

The two situations are not comparable. And it's laughable and embarrassing that you think they are.

So guys like zito, who himself said is 26 and healthy and has no need for health insurance, should be able to sit around without it till he gets cancer one day, then just demand that a health insurance company cover him?

Don't be that stupid. Please don't be that stupid.

That isn't how it works. If he were to get cancer today he can't just go get insurance tomorrow and demand treatment be paid for.

You're using hyperbole instead of looking at the logical reasons that part of the law was put in to place. There are very practical reasons it was put there, and there are still limitations that restrict people from doing what you said.

The people that vehemently disagree with this, to me, are being so short-sighted. In the long run, it will end up as a benefit to a lot more middle/lower class people than it hurts, and will be better than it was before for a majority of those people, even if it isn't right away. People need health insurance. It is too costly. At some point, we will all need it. An accident can happen at any time.

Again, if my mom had opted in, she wouldn't have had to dip in to her 401K for surgery. That extra little bit she'd be paying per month for insurance is a helluva lot cheaper than taking money out of retirement savings. This example is very anecdotal, but it's sad to me that because she's SO AGAINST IT because Fox News drills this bull**** in to people's heads, she screwed herself. And she STILL refuses to see the positives and that it would have helped her immensely because she's so brainwashed that she won't allow herself. It's sad.

Simple solution.

Get health insurance.

If you decide not to, it's on you.

Right. Exactly.
This is aimed to make health insurance much more affordable for those that weren't able to get it before.
Do you even know what you're talking about anymore, or are you not in front of the TV watching Fox News?
You didn't address the point that what you said about zito isn't how it works. At all. So you use extreme examples, that aren't even possible, to try and prove a point. And fail miserably. It's like, you dug a hole intending me to fall in it. While leading me to the hole, you fell in it and somehow covered yourself up with the dirt. That last part is the most impressive part.

Translation:

" I know this bill has sucked for a lot of people so far, and we're seeing a lot more negatives then positives. But just stick with it, it has to get better...right?"

Is this like "we have to pass the bill to know what's in it", only now it's " we gotta endure the crap that is obamacare now cause it might get better in the long run" ?

Lol

You insensitive bastard! You don't think poor zito should be helped out if he gets cancer? You're ok just letting him die and not getting the financial help he needs?

Jesus christ, I love you. Bless your heart.

Serious Yeezus? You don't see the potential consequences of not having any type of exclusions for certain pre-existing conditions?

I mean, hell, I'll even shut about not being able to deny coverage. But surely, they should be allowed to charge more. It's basically going to be a 100% claim rate.

your view is terribly out of date, the Aug 2014 rate is .4 % higher than Jan 04. this after peaking at over 10%.

The graph in the link below tells a totally different story

Lol. Spin cycle already rolling. Yes compared to the historic low number it wa, it may appear high to the Obummer supporters. But in reality, unemployment rates are still high pretty much everywhere.

Yeah I'm sure may be 50000 executives getting bonuses is what makes millions of peoples insurance rates sky rocket......

Yep. Keeping people alive cost a lot of money. But we should expect to pay pennies for that sort of privilege?

Most businesses don't have executives getting millions in bonuses. Most business owners have 50 employees and are up to their eyeballs in increasing costs.

I don't understand that line of thinking at all.

How can one be so opposed to something one doesn't understand?

I don't have it.. thank God as I would be paying double out of my pocket for two surgeries that I recently had.
