How Has Obamacare Affected Your Life?

States are dissolving insurance plans that don't meet obamacare standards.

Several hundred thousand people will be losing thier health insurance policies in the next few weeks.

so, when can we just work together to make a good universal health care system here so we don't have to keep going down this bad republican idea that democrats adopted plan?

once our population is educated, drops it's sense of "i got mine" and a generation of public servants gets up the courage to stand up to the monied interests.
Let me ask you gold -- would you vote for a POTUS candidate willing to stick his/her neck out that far ?

The time is long overdue for the American people to understand that our current health care system is not working and that there is something fundamentally wrong when the United States remains the only country in the industrialized world that does not guarantee health care to all people. A single-payer system will be good for the average American, good for businesses, good for workers and good for our overall economy. Health care is a right and we must establish that right in America

Having said all that, I doubt my lifetime and worrisome about it being in yours !

The only way I can gauge the macro effectiveness of ACA is to see where HoRep districts that were overwhelmingly voting to repeal in the last 2 elections are in this election cycle are beginning to soften. (R) candidates in contested elections this time around are singing a different tune

You can look that up

"You can still argue that single-payer would have covered more people at lower cost – in fact, I would. But that option wasn't on the table; only a system that appeased insurers and reassured the public that not too much would change was politically feasible. And it's working reasonably well: Competition among insurers who can no longer deny insurance to those who need it most is turning out to be pretty effective. This isn't the health care system you would have designed from scratch, or if you could ignore special-interest politics, but it's doing the job.

If you understood the law it would be crystal clear (for better or worse) one of the upsides of ACA was to standardize health insurance.

Toma -- are you familiar with the speech writing of William Safire ?

No Sturg, 57 thinks if you understood the law you (royal) would know what you"re (royal) talking about.
I think I've told you that 78 or 79 times

The internet is cool - people can say anything. I've never understood how someone can feel comfortable talking about something they only see or understand a small small part of the issue. There is not too much left of right wing talking point that factually debunk ACA.

Up thread a poster said his father lost his insurance. Still curious, why?
Only response was a picture of Obama making a partial unqualified statement. If that makes y'all feel better then, you will continue to be blindsided fluctutions of 78-9%.

"57 thinks" indeed

yes

i would rather a president be one term and do something great than be 2 terms and keep the status quo

No, if you understood the law you would feel silly wearing an increase of 78-9% as a badge of honor

78% not 72 or 83 but 78 -- huh? Quite a coincidence

That's more likely if you live in a "red state" that didn't vote for Obama, according to price data compiled by the Heritage Foundation. In red states, premiums for 27-year-olds rose an average of 78% on ObamaCare exchanges, whereas in "blue states" that voted for Obama, premiums rose a smaller 50%.

a man in favor of cutting the insurance companies out of the equation and the USofA going to a single payer health care system

Or, a guy with a Heritage Foundation Badge of Honor.
You tell me
..........

see, I did that without calling anyone an "idiot"

You can make all the assumptions you want. They make you look like an idiot. I posted my increase the minute it was announced, which I believe was November of 2012. I don't know when the Heritage Foundation announced whatever you're referring to. But I'm no fan of the heritage foundation. In fact, it was them who came up with this terrible idea.
