Braves Trade Deadline Rumors

You you weren't calling Gattis a young player? Just Wood and Cabrera?

I'm not even sure why you are bringing up age at all. When I am talking about young players the biggest beef I have with trading them is their production for league minimum. I think Headley will be a good player for another 4-5 years. I just don't think his production per salary is going to be greater than the production we get out of the young (cost controlled) players that we get.

Headley is my age. Hell yeah I consider him a young guy.

I think ideally we want only one of Carpentar/Varvaro/Ayala/Loe in the pen. Two would be ok, but one better.

With Downs coming in, we are down to three. My guess is Loe will be the first one to go.

If we trade for another reliever, it will be down to two.

And come September, Wood or a starter can move to the pen.

The pen has done a good job, but with that kind of upgrade we can partly make up for not having dominant starting pitching.

Do you read what you write on here?

Do you read it. Your discussion with BRule was that you thought it was silly that people are using age against Headley like he won't be productive for that much longer in the future. When did I make that claim?

You said you didn't want to trade young players for Headley, yet one of the 3 was only 2.5 years younger.

Yes and young players have more to do with their cost controlled nature. Sorry if I didn't articulate the way you wanted.

We should all beseech our various divinities that Kameron Loe never throws another pitch for the Atlanta Braves.

The rotation this season has been, all things considered, pretty dominant actually.

Pastornicky not in the lineup for Gwinnett. Hmmm

Shanks Breaking News:

Uggla, Heyward, Wood, and Gattis traded for Greinke, Ethier, and $10 million.

Pastornicky to take over at 2B - FINALLY giving the Braves the leadoff hitter they so desperately need.

He would only be 10 years late on his "MP" trade going down.
