Baalke picked those players. Bellicheck was not the guy who picked Brady. Sure, he may have had some input but Bellichek was not the figure then as he is now. As a GM, Bellichek should not get credit for Brady.

No, by your logic Baalke doesn't get credit for Kap because Harbaugh is the one who had to fight to get Baalke to draft him.

Speaking of Belichek anyway. Which coaching tree is the most impressive?

The obvious candidates are Bill Walsh, Bill Parcells, Paul Brown, and Marty Schottenheimer. I'm gonna ignore Sid Gillman cause otherwise it wouldn't be fair cause his indirect ties are insane.

Walsh's tree is still very active thanks to Holmgren and his impressive tree. So the Walsh tree consists of the aforementioned Holmgren, Seifert, Hackett, Fassel, Green, Reid, Fisher, Shanahan, Billick, Gruden, McCarthy,Mariucci,Kubiak and both Harbaughs (John assistent coached under Reid, Jim assistant coached under Ray Rhodes who coached under Holmgren and Bill Walsh both) Something like 11 Superbowl wins since Walsh came on the scene inthe 80s have come from Walsh or one of the members of his tree.

Parcells's tree is less populated. But with 8 Superbowls coming from it (2 from Parcells, 3 from Belichek 2 from Coughlin and 1 from Peyton)

Brown had Shula, Wyche, Collier, and Ewbank after him. Similar to Parcells his tree isn't deep, but it's excellent. I had to remove BIll Walsh from his tree as well for fairness sake. Otherwise it would be a lock that he wins.

Shotty is far and away the worst coach to top a tree, but with his tree you have Dungy, Cowher, Tomlin, Lovie Smith, Marvin Lewis, Wisenhunt, making something like 5 rings from that group.

So the question becomes is the Walsh tree clearly better than the other 2 when it relies more on it's Branches? Direct Walsh connections only produced 6 lombardi trophies to Parcells's 8. Shotty's group is kind of like the misfits of the NFL with lots of long tenured coaches.

Of course as I said, Gilman tree would easily win if we took it at it's most strict, BIll Walsh was under him, Chuck Noll, Al Davis, Dick Vermeil,John Madden, Joe Gibbs, Tony Dungy, and many more.

Baalke benefitted from his predecessors quite a lot too. Baalke became GM in 2011, key active players on the Niners who were drafted before he took over as GM, Davis, Iupati, Bowman, Crabtree, Willis, Staley, McDonald, Goldson, Vernon Davis, Aelx Smith, Frank Gore, and Andy Lee. SO basically what upwards of almost half of the teams starts now came pre-Baalke but he's a genius? I think my favorite Baalke draft was 2012 which produced such stellar Niners are LaMichael James, AJ Jenkins, and Joe Looney.

Baalke picked the players in 2011. Our gm was on a bender at the time. Make sure you know what you're talking about my friend as I mentioned this countless times before.

Eric Reid and who else that's actually a contributor?

Who are Tank/Dial/Lemonier going to play over? McDonald has been a contributor but isn't anything special. Moody has helped on special teams.

49ers are in a situation because of the 2011/2012 drafts as well as excellent FA acquisition where they don't draft for immediate needs.

Tank Carradine could have played when Smith was suspended. Maybe the reason they aren't playing has less to do with how good the Niners are and more to do with how unspectacular they are as player? If they were so good they'd insert themselves into the conversation. These aren't quarterbacks or offensive linemen. Defensive linemen rotate in all of the time. So either they're not that special and are losing PT to other players, or your coaches are retards for not rotating their DL.

So, none them contribute but it was a good draft?

Tank is not a 3-4 linebacker and is recovering from an injury. He is basically a rookie this year. The 49ers have other guys on their depth chart that get playing time like Jerod Eddie and Dobbs (when he was on the roster). Again, I talk about the depth of the roster but you still don't understand just how many players the 49ers have that aren't stars or anything but are just solid.

Dial has been in the rotation and has been a positive so far in his early career.

Well Eric Redi looks like he is going to be a 10 year player. Thats a huge positive.

Dial has already been productive when he has gotten a chance. Lemonier was a positive last year when we had a need. So far the 2013 draft has been good because its added to the depth on the roster and has already produced a pro bowl player.

Hitting on a first round pick (a safety, which is probably the easiest position to draft a contributor in the first round) does not make a good draft.

Can we talk about how bad Trufant was snubbed? He was the 8th best coverage corner, with the worst pass rush. When the Falcons add a pass rush he'll be approaching top of the pack in his rankings.

Again, as you odn't watch the 49ers its futile to have this discussion. I never said this was a studly draft but getting a pro bowler after one season in addition to several players who are providing contributions is a good draft. As the Tank/Dial/Lemonier picks were made for a few years down the road lets re-visit this in a year or so.

I was impressed with his play recently when I saw the Falcons play.

Everyone needs a pass rush for sure and that is why I'm semi-excited about the 49ers moving forward. I just can't believe that Lynch has been this productive this early and we are getting back the second pass rusher in the league now.

Drafting that guy in the 20's was a bad ass move by TD. He was their guy, and they hung tight on it.
