CB play can fluctuate a lot year to year. See Patrick Peterson this year vs. last. I've also seen it a lot with the Cowboys: Newman, Jenkins, Carr. I'm not saying the guy isn't good, but "when the Falcons get a pass rush"...it can be really hard to get one. It's not like it's a sure thing you'll have it in a year or two.

Patrick Peterson is overrated. He's a athletic freak but he's not technically sound.

Falcons will have a pass rush at some point just because they can't stay this bad, it's virtually impossible. They may suck at other facets but their pass rush will certainly improve in the coming years.

If you don't get good pass rushers the rush won't magically become good. Maybe improve a bit, but something bad can improve and still be bad.
 
The only way the Falcons are going to magically get a pash rush is to draft and or sign players who can do that. I know Zito has a chubby for Randy Gregory and so do I. The Falcons need to quit screwing around and get back to the top of the draft.

Tru was badass as a rookie playing one of the hardest positions to play. He is following it up this year as well. I'd think the sample size has been satisfied.

I am not certain but Lynch may not have gotten serious consideration from us because of baggage. I think he may have gotten kicked out of ND? Guys like that aren't going to be drafted by Arthur Blank after getting burned so badly by Vick.

Peria Jerry bust, Edwards FA DE bust, Jamal Anderson DE bust, Goodman DE no pass rush chops- only run defender, Hageman DE (tbd, but has all the physical tools)

They have tried. It is difficult. Ford and Lawrence went before their pick in years passed.

Yes, Lynch had a ton of baggage like 95% of 49ers draft picks.
 
I don't think its fair to characterize Lynch as having a ton of baggage. Jameis Winston has a ton of baggage.

Did Lynch even get in trouble while he was at South Florida?

Dial has already been productive when he has gotten a chance. Lemonier was a positive last year when we had a need. So far the 2013 draft has been good because its added to the depth on the roster and has already produced a pro bowl player.

If the best thing you can say is they've "been a positive" then don't even bother listing them. If all you get is 1 impact player and a bunch of a backups, I don't see what is so special about it.

“Thought an organization with 5 Super Bowl titles would have a stricter draft criteria. Clearly, integrity & character are not a priority,”

Yeah, I read that. One mans opinion. I just didn't see anything reported about Lynch after ND. He could end up being as bad as Aldon or he could end up being a saint. I just don't think its fair to characterize him as this awful human being just yet.

If your definition of a solid pick is a starter then you don't know what you're talking about. You can be a bad player and still start for a team like the Titans.

There was an NFL team that cut his interview short bc they thought he was lying to them.

He dropped to the 5th round for a reason.
