Braves sign Cuban OF Dian Toscano to Major League Deal

Reminds me of when Raul Mondesi sent out a press release stating: "I have signed with the Atlanta Braves for one million American dollars. I am excited to win back the hearts and minds of the American people. I am LITERALLY on my way to Atlanta right now"

Immediately, the Braves responded: "Um... we totally don't know anything about this... I'm not even sure we've talked to this guy... *cough*shut up Raul*cough*"

Ah... found it. Here is an article by some dude named Kyle:

I vaguely remember Kyle Hawkins. I think he used to argue with posters a lot, but I can't remember that for certain.

My own ten-to-twelve-year-old content is behind a paywall.

Reading the scouting reports on him they say he can cover center he just has a noodle arm. That hasn't really stopped the Braves before so I don't think it's going to be a problem when the alternative is BJ. The best thing you can do for your obp is hit for a good average. The bar is pretty low for offense from center field and just getting average production from a center fielder would be nice for a change.

So I am pretty certain they signed him to at worst backup center as the 4th outfielder.

Oh, I wouldn't give up hope just yet...

Remember last year, when there were threads about everyone being ITBSOML? Still, since he wasn't in favor with the Cubans, it isn't unreasonable to think that he has gained a lot of strength since he's been in the US, as he was probably not privy to top training methods or even the best nutrition. Not to mention, he was probably in fear for his life and freedom, which would have also had a negative effect. It would be a good story if he turned out to really be a good player. I remember the incredible skepticism that surrounded Gattis.

Raul Mondesi had a rocket arm.

He preferred the another analogy.
